❣ - An unpopular opinion I have

I love Suzanne Collins, but sometimes I thought she was lazy with some of the more basic facts. I mean, we know Hazelle is Gale’s mother, but there are no first names for Peeta or Katniss’ parents, nor their kids in the epilogue. How is this not important? (sure she tweeted it’s willow and rye for kids but not the same)

The same kinda for the characterizations of the Careers. I know they’re supposed to be these ambitious kids, training for the day they can volunteer, but that can’t honestly be everything there is to them. Like I would have loved to hear more about Gloss and Cashmere, and how broken they were as well because no victor was left untouched by the Games. Enobaria was quick to agree in doing the same to the Capitol that they had done to the Districts, but why? Because before it always sounded like the Careers were a pack of hungry wolves, loving nothing more than to destroy other tributes, and let’s face it. That’s not who they are. Not really. At least, I like to think it isn’t. 

Also, I kinda dislike reading first person…

✗ - A ship I can’t stand

I’ve seen some Haymitch/Katniss before and it’s just so disturbing to me. I can’t— But if that’s something you’re into, that’s fine. I’ll just look away then.

☑ - A fact about the character

Whenever Katniss gets really nervous or scared, she still automatically finds a small space to hide in. When she gets upset on the other hand, she’ll make a mental list of all the good deeds she saw other people do in her life. And if it takes Peeta too long to find her, she’ll use that old trick once learned in which she makes a short summary of who and what she is now.

☄ - My opinion of you

You are a wonderfully talented roleplayer, and I’m honored to have threads with you as well as being able as doing the lotr verse with you, because I sorta adore and admire your portrayal of Johanna. And as a mun, I think you’re a real sweetheart from what I’ve seen.

            Katniss swallowed hard, it wasn't as easy to make promises now that she had gone through a real war and experience how hard it was to keep those promises. She didn't want to disappoint anyone else, but she couldn't just not care about Johanna after the hell she had gone through right next to Katniss.

                                                          "Johanna..." She began, there was no hesitate in her voice despite how nervous about the seriousness of her words she could be. "I know you said you had nothing or no one left...but that's not true. You'll always have me, I promise."

               Small, rather frail - the angel has not been at her finest today, woke up late in the day and couldn't drag herself out of bed in time to see the sunrise, her morning tea was too sugary and her lunchtime tea didn't have any sugar in it at all. She received a scolding from her siblings after visiting "home" for no reason at all, just simply because they don't like her, and is currently healing up whip lashes marking her fore-arms. Gale was exhausted, and he wanted to do nothing more than head back to his own quarters to get some rest, but the numbers on his wrist kept him wide awake at the same time. It wasn't that he had some high hopes, and he most definitely had bigger worries at the time, like his best friend being in the hospital after getting shot. Still, there was a certain thrilling notion to the idea of meeting his soulmate.

Although he knew Katniss would be getting her dinner at the hospital, old habits seemed to die hard and Gale gathered everything for two meals, both his own and Katniss' from the dining hall. It had taken some convincing, seeing as everyone was entitled to a certain amount as not to mess up the carefully calculated rations  Passing by both his family as the Everdeens sitting together with Delly Cartwright at one table, he gave them a tight lipped smile and lifted the food tray to express he would talk them later. Catnip needed him right now.

It was like he had already suspected, he thought when he looked down at his wrist, the tray still clutched in his grip. He was only a couple of steps away from the white curtain and he knew Katniss would be lying in a bed behind it, so she had to be his soulmate. Maybe it wasn't actually meeting a person, but just talking to them again. Any encounter was a meeting in a way, or so he told himself.

The curtain was being drawn back and a girl walked out that most definitely wasn't his Catnip. Gale froze mid-step and simply stared at her for a beat too long. Of course, he recognized her, even bruised and beaten up as she was, it was undeniably the victor from District 7. Johanna Mason. She looked even more beautiful in person than on tv. If only she wasn't so...tortured. It filled him with even more rage than usual towards the Capitol and he grit his teeth, wanting nothing more than to burn down the world to make up for everything that had been done to her. How dare they touch her? 

"Johanna," he breathed, his hand already coming up to gingerly touch her jaw, where she sported another bruise, yellow-ish as it healed slowly. "I'm--"

"Soldier Hawthorne, you can't take any food from the dining hall!"
