girl how many more joker movies do we need? the answer is we should have stopped after heath ledger
Heath Ledger in The Dark Night (2008)
Have you seen any of the shows at The Club Car like Speakeasy Magick or Bassey & the Heathens (which seems to be free when looking at tickets for it) or the Bartschland Follies? Would you recommend them?
Yes.
I loved The Illusionist’s Table and would definitely recommend it. It was a wonderful and intimate evening of magic and great food. I was genuinely surprised and enchanted throughout the night.
Wonders at Dusk was a nice evening, but you would definitely have a better time if you are seated near the front of the room. They say the seating is all equal, but I disagree with that.
The Bartschland Follies is wild and should be some sort of NYC institution. Susanne Bartsch is a legend of the NYC club and party scene, and it’s well worth it just for a sense of history. That said, this is a pretty extreme form of burlesque, and it definitely not to everyone’s taste. Perhaps google some images from it to see if it’s an evening you’d like. I recommend getting a table if you can.
I haven’t seen Speakeasy Magick, but I’ve heard wonderful things about it.
Bassey and the Heathens are a band. They are great, but I’ve never been able to spend much time listening to them because every time I’ve tried, whoever is mixing the sound makes the volume WAY too loud for the space. I don’t like shouting at my friends, not being able to hear them, and losing my voice–even when the band is terrific.
Also of note: I miss The Heath and the wonderful characters and 1:1s that lived in that space…
I thought it'd be cool to do this type of edit to remember Heathie today.
