Jk Rowling’s New Novel
After 7 hours, I still barely even have coherent, rational words to express my emotions towards JK Rowling’s new abomination. So I’ll try the best I can.
Harry Potter was the first “big kid” book I read. I was seven. I was a bit “quirky” (I had undiagnosed ADHD and anxiety), and it gave me a safe mystical world. I’m not bringing this up for nostalgia’s sake, but because I distinctly remember wanting to dress up as Harry Potter
For Halloween in first grade. Not Hermoine. Not Luna. Harry. I told a girl in my class this. I was informed that I couldn’t, because “you’re a girl”. When we went around the classroom to talk about our costumes, I refused to share. I was embarrassed.
Eventually, I went as Harry. I also played Harry in a re-enactment of the Potter puppet pals. Until recently, I believed that the author of these books would support that. I was so beyond wrong. She would have agreed with the opinion of a first-grader. “You’re a girl”.
Although these books once gave me a safe place, they now pose a threat to my community. I am gender fluid. I am a part of the trans community. Rowling denies these identities as being valid, and claims them to be a product of toxic masculinity. Two very different things.
Trans, GNC, genderfluid, nb, and genderqueer people tend to (though not always) experience sometimes crippling dysphoria. This does not invalidate the experiences of cis women who feel pressured to conform to societal norms.
She doesn’t get to claim “biology” and disregard neurology. She has no right to use a man’s name to sell more books, then invalidate the trans community. She has no right.
If you’re reading this, I want you to know; someone writing a 900 page novel does not invalidate us. I am valid. You are valid. We are valid. Her novel wrongly depicts a transgender woman. Her facts are not based on science. Her facts are not valid. We are valid.
For the love of god, can someone just take away JK Rowling’s computer? Or teach her how to shut the fuck up? Please? We’re all tired of her bullshit.
To any trans or non-binary people who may see this: you are valid, you are loved, and you deserve compassion and safety just as much as cis people.
To any TERFs who may see this: kindly fuck off, and do not interact with this post
She died like she lived...a vicious melty faced bigot

I see a lot of peeps out there threatening to boycott the new Harry Potter game; Hogwarts Legacy, to be released on PS5 next year.
I don't like JK as a person, but personally I'm looking forward to getting the game, creating a trans character and tweeting JK updates of their progress at Hogwarts.
I might even do a Let's Play and tweet her links to my videos
goddammit twitter why did you make me get my hopes up about jk rowling, I thought she was dead fr :(
Sex and gender are completely different and it's super uncomfortable that rowlings argument for her shitty transphobic comments stands behind this misconception
