Good day/night to you all.
1. Ides of March used to be the beginning of the year until the Julian reform of the Roman calendar in 46 BC when new year was moved to the Kalends of January (January 1st)
2. The Romans held a feast for Anne Perenna (goddess of the year) on the Ides of March
3. The consuls (the two most important magistrates of the Roman Republic unless there was a war and the Senate had voted to give emergency powers to one person) were elected on the Ides of March
4. (Fast forward 2 years later) Julius Caesar was planning on going off on some sort campaign in a few days? Not sure to where but it was one of his last public appearance before departure
5. Iirc it was the first meeting of the Senate for the year. So like,,,,imagine going to meet the boys before new year meal and they pull out bunch of knives and *stabbing motions*
6. Caesar changed new year,,,,,only to be murdered on old new year date? On the date people usually got elected not de-elected via murder?? I love it.
7. Stab stab, let me stab,,,,,,some specific people. Would y'all like to partake in the stabbing? Group projects are better than one-man missions.
