does lexi canonically die at some point
Proxies in my AU can’t die.
I actually haven’t gone into how proxies work before so I will here! One of the components of Slenderman is he is able to split a seperate, small entity off of himself, or rather his tentacles, that looks like a leech. This leech is known by many names, such as S-Virus, Slender Sickness, the Leech or the Parasite.
This parasite burrows itself into the brain of Slenderman’s target (Baldur’s Gate mention /j) and causes common symptoms such as anger, violence, coughing blood and severe headaches. It lays dormant until the target is taken by him. Once they are, the parasite activates. What follows is why it’s called the parasite.
Once that parasite activates, the proxy is essentially deceased. Over the span of a year, it sucks the life force from the proxy and sends it to Slenderman, until the only thing keeping the proxy alive is the parasite. The proxy stops aging completely, barely needs to eat or sleep, will barely bleed or have a heartbeat, and will look like a corpse.
But there are some benefits. The parasite also enhances them, the longer they’ve had it the more enhanced they are. It makes them stronger and faster than any other human, with sharper senses and reflexes. Lexi, who is the weakest since she’s the youngest, is already strong enough to nearly rip a car door off it’s hinges. And since they stop aging, proxies are pretty much immortal.
Anyway, TLDR is that proxies can’t die, so Lexi won’t die of old age. But she does die eventually. I can’t specify how, otherwise it’ll spoil my upcoming comic, but she does.
