Aw that’s so sweet! Bolin’s hands are always in motion and when he’s upset in anyways he tends to fiddle his fingers. Playing with a ring he’s wearing is totally something he would do.
Honestly I would have loved if the boys had a memento from both their parents. Naoki had a shawl and hair piece in the picture of their family that they could have had. Or the boys could have had their parents wedding bands, if they had them. Marriage traditions weren’t really discuses in Avatar or Legend of Korra outside of the Water Tribe.
Either way, I always hc that they were a poor family from the get go so whatever they had wasn’t fancy. But if they got to keep anything from their parents, regardless of the quality, the boys would have definitely treasured it.
