What tool would you bring to the isolated island? Jigsaws are a bit underappreciated but they are very versatile tools and allow variety of cuts. When I travel and can't bring too many tools I still bring a jigsaw. Paired with a ruler or a square it will crosscuts and rip quite precisely even if not as fast as table saw.
