Rest In Power to the one and only Paul Mooney. As a fan of comedy, I would say that Mr. Mooney is essential listening. His humor showcased a bold, brash and unapologetically black perspective. His often controversial social commentary showed us that he was gonna do it his way even if he lost a few gigs and some fans. He talked about race in a way that made a lot of folks (i.e., white people) uncomfortable and I love him for that. Lending inspiration to giants like Richard Pryor, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle and others, the man left an indelible mark in the world of comedy and beyond.
