Like two weeks ago was the "confirmation party" of my host sister. I helped with the cooking and preparing everything for the guests (more than 20 relatives, who came from different nearby cities). It was raining. We went to the church in the morning, the ceremony wasn't long, and like always in the church there was really good music. Like I have said before, Finnish people are really "musical" and the instruments where played by youngsters who participate in the religious youth group of Jokioinen.
The confirmation parties don't last long here in Finland. Ours started around 12 am and ended around 16.00 or 16.30. Also is normal to invite a lot of relatives, in our party there where more than 20 and they told me that it was a small reunion in comparison with others. Everyone brought presents and some money gifts. The menu was makaroni laatikko (is a baked macaroni dish) The reunion was calm and nice, very contrasting with the familiar reunions that we usually have in Chile, smaller, later, longer and noisier.
