“I should’ve died in my 20s. I became successful in my 40s. I became a dad in my 50s. I feel like I’ve stolen a car — a really nice car — and I keep looking in the rearview mirror for flashing lights. But there’s been nothing yet.” Depression has no color, it can smile, it can joke, it can be rich, it can be poor. Take time to know your neighbors, be friends with that kid who is always sitting alone. You never know, you could save a life. If a celebrity committing suicide puts a spotlight on this real problem, I'm all for it. Tashi lost 2 friends to suicide when she was 13 & 14. Her first friend was depressed but I guess only her family knew. Her second friend, Taylor, had an argument with her "new" step-mom, ran upstairs, took a loaded gun and killed herself. Taylor wasn't a depressed person... she was a 14 year old girl trying to hurt her step-mom. Within the month, her dad filed for divorce. Her dad is still unmarried but dating and her step-mom remarried and has a baby. Heartbreakingly sad.
