Liberty! I was honored to share some of my originals (on Monday, February 9) at a benefit show for a lost friend. It was the first time I sang these songs in front of a crowd and I was holding back tears the whole time. Powerful words, though, of learning lessons and pushing forward through the hard times. It seemed fitting. I'm grateful that Charlie (sound engineer/mc for the night) was persistent enough with me, because I was having a hard time finding a song within during the grieving process (seriously, I didn't sing anything until a jam session was spontaneously setup in my living room on Saturday - by Charlie). We miss you, Travis, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you have left behind... it will drive us forward.
