Wearing a waist chain can be a stylish and versatile accessory that adds a unique touch to a variety of outfits. Many people choose to wear it for special occasions such as parties or festivals, while others incorporate it into their everyday fashion. Waist chains can accentuate the silhouette, draw attention to the waist and add a bit of sparkle or color to an outfit. Whether it's a delicate gold chain or a bold statement piece, the choice often reflects personal style and cultural influences.
In some cultures, waist chains have traditional significance, symbolizing femininity and beauty. They can also serve as a reminder of body positivity, celebrating curves and confidence. Prompt: Rita and Gilderoy run into a crazy ex of his.
He’ll be fine on his own for a minute.
That thought was quite frankly Rita’s first mistake and what a rookie one it was. She should have known by then that Gilderoy Lockhart could very much not be left on his own for any amount of time especially during this season. It was Christmas and Rita being the luckiest girl in the world was spending it with Gilderoy at his ridiculously beautiful home turned guest house for the party season. Summers with the McKinnons and Christmases with Gideroy- there was not one thing she could complain about well, expect from Gilderoy’s mum who had made it abundantly clear she was not happy with her saying there but that’s another story.
Right now we’re focusing on a Christmas Eve party held at the Lockharts where at that moment Rita had stopped, wearing this crazy beautiful dress Mrs Lockhart had thrown her way (well, if she was going to stay she might as well not look like a street walker, to quote Suzanne Lockhart), to watch the first few snowflakes of the night fall down on the already snow dusted ground. Her back was literally turned for three, four seconds maximum and somehow, somehow he had managed to get himself into trouble. Rita shouldn’t have been shocked and she wasn’t- never was when it came to Gilderoy, and there was nothing he could ever do to shock her and vice versa. She didn’t have to pretend anything with him, she never felt like she had to be anything better than what she was. Being with him made her happy.
Being with him was also a massive pain in the ass.
Her name was Lori. No, wait Lindy. Lindsay? Yeah, Lindsay.
“Lindsay, hey you. You looke ravishing this-,” Gilderoy grinned as charmingly as humanly possible hiding all signs of panic behind it. Maybe if he aimed well enough he could through a twig or something at Rita so she could come and swoop him away.
“It’s Lainey, Gilderoy, Lainey! Merlin, didn’t those three weeks mean anything to you? Don’t you remember how magical they were? Don’t you!?” she was pretty, smoking hot actually but even he had to admit that he’d gone a little too far into Crazy Town with this one.
“Lainey, I knew that! I was just…testing you. I- Of course, best three weeks of my life but you know how it is baby, I needed room to grow. We both did- do, we both do,” he added quickly as an after thought, “You deserve so much better than me.” There. That should do it. Huh, guess he could cope without Rita. Sometimes.
“Oh Gilderoy, I knew you’d say that. Your mother told me, she told me where to find you and that you were just going through a phase. I get it now, you think I don’t deserve you but I’m going to show you I do. I swear. There isn’t anything in this world that could pull me away from you. I promise-,” his eyes grew wider and wider as the alarm bells broke in his head- he was going to wake up chained to her bed post and it wasn’t going to be in the good kinky sense.
My idiot needs help senses are tingling.
Rita immediately twirled around to catch a glimpse of Lainey grabbing Gilderoy’s hands. Part of her always felt like laughing a little. He just always looked so startled, so terrified having never underestimated the things a woman obsessed will do.
‘Chained up in a basement, Rita. Is that what you want!?’
With that memory she rolled her eyes and stormed onto the scene.
“Gilderoy Lockhart! What are you doing? Who’s this!? I thought you said I was the only one,” she glared from Lainey to him with fire in her eyes, “You said we had something special!”
“You said we had something special!” Lainey retorted squeezing his hands tighter.
“You bastard!” Rita exclaimed before promptly slapping him across the face causing Lainey to jump back. The air was still for a moment as Rita mentally crossed her fingers and then it happened.“Yeah, exactly! You bastard!” Lainey repeated slapping the other side of his face before stopping, grabbing him, and kissing him. Now, crazy kisses are like crazy sex- terrifying yet satisfying, “But I’ll always love you.”
With that she sighed, glared at Rita and stormed away after adding a, “I hope you give him what he deserves.”
“I promise I will,” Rita said shaking her head, waiting until she was out of ear shot before turning to her startled and slightly disgruntled friend.
“Not the face Rita! We have one rule and-,” she hooked her fingers through his and he promptly shut up, returning her smile. Merlin, she had a pretty smile.
“She was the one who stole your hair brush wasn’t she?”
“No, no that was definitely Lindsay.”
“Lori.”
“Right, I knew that.”
Rita laughed, and her eyes sparkled and something, a knot Gilderoy always thought, tightened inside him and he found himself just staring at her, taking in her beauty, the music her laugh carried. Now she, she was something he would never deserve and yet he would always be too selfish to let her go.
“Come on, before she comes back for a DNA sample,” Rita smirked tugging on his hand slightly.
“Don’t have to tell me twice,” he grinned happily following after her, always happily.
