Assorted photos of the Moder maquette sculpted by Russell FX based on Keith Thompson's design for The Ritual (2017). This was made as a scanning reference for the digital Moder model.

The Moder was a digital creation in wide shots, but for close-ups of the monster interacting with cast members, a large puppet head was created.

A performer lay down inside the head, wearing prosthetics on their arms - the harsh weather of the Carpathian Mountains, where the film was all shot on location, made these scenes harder to film!
