I met a friend today.. She was suffering from guilt & agony. I asked her what was wrong, when she suddenly broke down. I sat in shock as I watched her cry till no tears were left in her eyes. She is one of the strongest person I have ever known. I have always seen her happy & organised. She, I have seen care for her son & that big house of hers all alone. Never has she ever complained, always seemed to enjoy the role she played. Today seeing her so shattered & broken makes me wonder how much of it was fake. Was that all for show & the so called society role or was I being just cynical and absurd. I let her weep some more before I shout ‘What on earth is wrong, babe? Why you so tattered & broken?’ She looks up straight at me, there is something in her eyes that stops my words. I can’t believe it is shame, I see with sorrow & unrest for whatever that has taken place. For once I am at lost for words but force myself to ask her ‘Sweetheart, tell me what is wrong? This look I just saw seems very wrong. I know you can’t have done anything so bad. That shame I saw had to be for another reason, na.’ She jus continues to look at me, scaring the living daylights out of me. What could be soo wrong that she can’t even open her mouth? Why is she so shattered & so down? This woman who has been a strength for more people around. She has always inspired other women I know. Some have her on a pedestal too. I know she is just human but now-a-days there are a few like her that we see around. Something huge must have happened to her, cos she is not someone who easily shatters As I continue to look at her, my thoughts go wild with various fear.
