Introducing one of your two rivals in the Cantessy Fakemon project, Toby! He's a good kid with a heart of gold, very easygoing and willing to take life as it comes rather than push for anything specific. Hence he's the one who obtains the starter that is at a type disadvantage against the player (ie. Haymuth if you chose Calflame, Chikret if you chose Haymuth, etc.) I wanted to depict him with the first Pokemon he catches after getting his starter so that I could work on the sketch before putting out that survey I keep mentioning, which is a male Cardling. And yeah, if you remember back to my showing the Cardling family, you know why I'm specifying that his is a male. Give him that vibrant cardinal red, babey >:3c
Being one of the rivals, Toby's team obviously grows over time. After his starter, he obtains a Cardling that eventually evolves into a brilliant red Frostinal. By the third battle you have with him, he'll get a male Moofer, a Fakemon I haven't shown off yet that is a baby form of both Tauros and Miltank (three guesses what his Moofer will evolve into, huh). The fourth battle against him will see him start to try balancing his team a bit more to counter yours, adding something that is strong against your Starter (Carkol if you chose Haymuth, the Fakemon Spungel if you chose Calflame, or Applin if you chose Chikret). The fifth has him add an Eevee to the team, and if he had a Carkoal or Applin it will evolve into Coalossal or Appletun. His final team will consist of his starter, Frostinal, Tauros, Sylveon, and either Coalossal and Spungel (if he chose Haymuth), Spungel and Appletun (if he chose Calflame), or Appletun and Coalossal (if he chose Chikret).
