Featuring in this photo is 'la Torre Civica' (Civic Tower) dating back to the 14th century and modified up to the 19th century. It was one of three entrances to the medieval quarter of Rivalta di Torino, built so as to surveil the points of entry from east to west. The tower may not have any significant architectural elements, but there are some hints of decoration in the bands of terracotta that run two-thirds from the bottom and just under where the single golden bell tolls.
