Marco and Tom: They’re no Globgor

wanna bring this up because i’ve seen people say that marco is more discriminated then tom and the royal family would never accept him and i need to explain why that doesn’t make any sense:

It’s never been displayed that the mewmans, or even the royal family, have any real issue with marco whatsoever. In fact we’ve seen countless times that they seem perfectly fine with it.

They let marco hang out with star wherever she goes, are never displayed having issues if they dated, and not to mention they consider marco part of the family already and let him stay in their castle with him.

I’ve heard people say marco would be treated like river but the issue is River and his family are seen as barbarians, and that's why some of moon’s family find them distasteful.

Marco’s not exactly a barbarian.

Marco’s not even lacking in the money department, making his own every month from royalty checks. 

If marco was any kind of issue to them, they wouldn't even have let marco get anywhere near star. 

Marco’s a squire, and regarded as a hero to the rulers of mewni, he’s not exactly a plain and normal lower class being on mewni. Even if the citizens of mewni don’t care about him, no one else seems to take issue with him.

Marco’s never been treated the best by mewni, but that’s mostly in regards to just not caring about him more then flat out thinking he’s lower then them. Which isn’t the same thing as what they do against monsters.

In fact one of the mewman queens married a bard, the queens weren’t limited to just royals and nobles. If a bard can rule mewni, i don’t think anyone would care if star was with a knight.

The truth of the matter is, neither tom or marco are perfect comparisons to globgor.

Depending on where tom goes next season he could easily put himself in a position where he could could be seen as a true monster to the mewmans, especially if he renounces his title or does anything extreme if the plot goes further with him and the monsters.

But marco’s in no position to ever be put in this kinda place, especially since he’s not biologically considered a problem to mewni to begin with. Going back to my monster draft, the species and how you look have a supreme affect on if you are seen as a monster.

Without tom’s wealth and alliance, he’s just a monster simply due to his powers and appearance.

But even if marco weren’t rich, he’s a creature the mewmans have never shown issues with. They did trust humans to take care of their daughter, so clearly they don’t consider them abominations.

And this was before they got to know marco more. Marco has an advantage over tom because as far as we know, the butterflies know marco much more then tom. They have a closer connection to our knowledge as they really don’t talk about tom very much or display much of a personal bond.

Even if you took monster arm into account, it’s not the same thing as being a born monster and wouldn’t even be permanent. It was a infecting spell, a parasite, which makes it a lot different then being a exact monster.

I see the fandom desperately trying to force these comparison but there’s just no way you can make an exact comparison to eclipsa and her husband.

Tom and Star are a much closer match due to tom’s species and threat level but it’s not exact.

Marco and Tom, by class, are considered higher then globgor was.

People would be fine with them dating star.

But between the two of them, marco is better off because he doesn’t have the disadvantages tom does.

 It’s confirmed by the crew tom would of never been allowed near star if he wasn’t an ally.

But marco was always allowed to be in charge of star, before anyone even knew anything about him. 

And that says a lot about how the mewmans see them, if they would never let someone like tom near star based on his appearance, but let marco near her under the same circumstances.
