When Cyberpunk 2077 announced that the hetero romance for female V was going to be with a cop, I was pissed.

….. and 100000% did not expect him to steal my heart.

I mean, really? A game in a Cyberpunk dystopia where the whole point is “fuck capitalism/corporations/government” and they’re gonna pair you up with a cop? Seemed to seriously miss the point.

But I did the romance. And while it’s clearly underdeveloped compared to Panam and Judy, should’ve been included in the main storyline too and also been longer… River really captivated me and it felt so nice to just do something… normal. (After the first 2 missions) It felt like a break from the hectic, violent world of Night City and an especially fitting romance for Nomad V.
