Exactly! He’s spent so long developing these characters, they’re not just going to ignore him. I saw that, the whole rights thing is so frustrating, and as much as I’d love a Hulk movie, as long as we get more, I’m happy. Especially if it’s both!

Same. I don’t need a solo film as long as he gets decent screentime. Hopefully we won’t have to wait all the way until Infinity War to see him and Natasha on screen together again. Heck, it’s still possible he might be in Civil War as a cameo or something.

It does, I agree. Besides, he's not leaving the MCU, and he'll probably have some involvement and I feel like he'll fight for them to remain canon. I'm definitely more optimistic, I think we're gonna be okay.

Agreed. He’ll probably help write things - he polished up the script for The Dark World, for example (along with some other writers as well), and I doubt future directors will want to ignore what he’s done. I think Joss is in our corner. Like he said, this relationship “just makes sense.” heh

Another thing I thought I should share - apparently Universal still has the rights to a solo Hulk film, according to Mark (he talked about it in a recent interview, which I queued on our blog). It might be a long time before we get to see one, if ever, but in the meantime we might get to see more films with both him and Natasha in them, since Mark has 4 or 5 films in his contract still.

oooh damn just read the spoiler and I’m proud of Joss for the investment in their relationship! Kinda relieved that at least he’s still on Earth and yes, I think they will have a very meaningful reunion since they are in love.Hoping Nat won’t forget

I’m proud of him for doing that too! What Scarlett said gives me hope - her relationship with Bruce is special. It’s the first time she’s let herself be “vulnerable,” as Scarlett said, and “let her guard down.” That makes this a relationship that it would be silly to ignore in future films because most viewers have enjoyed it and recognize its significance to both of them.

I don’t think they can ignore it, from everything we’re hearing. I think it can be like Pepper/Tony - it doesn’t take centre stage, but you don’t doubt that the characters love each other and they’re both important. I think they’ll end up together.

It’s hard to say, but I’m more optimistic than not, I think. We know Joss has been involved in setting up the entire MCU even if he won’t be directing anymore. For example, during the press conference, he said that it was he who advised Feige to not put Thanos in GOTG too much and to “thread him in” more slowly. He probably didn’t introduce this relationship only for it to be totally over in one movie (he usually doesn’t kill relationships off that quickly in my experience), especially since the two of them talked of marriage. Does that make sense?

Yeah it seems like it should be more dramatic than that, and like you said, they did that with Steve. 

Also, what do you think re: what will happen to these two moving forward? A lot of people are hoping the Russos will just ignore Bruce/Natasha entirely but I highly doubt that - Scarlett made it sound like it’s important. What do you think, just based on what we know?

This makes me sad :( But I have hope for Infinity War. These characters deserve a happy ending. I’m glad I read this spoiler because if I had gone in the theater blind, they would have to drag me out.

Yeah, same. The good news is this is obviously not something they’re just going to forget about in future movies - it’s beautiful and meaningful, and still has a chance to ultimately become a reality.

Yes, but it said “ocean” right before that...maybe some of the possible sites are actually in space and they just don’t know? 

I hope you don’t regret reading it. I’m glad I know - I wanted to know that their story was going to be meaningful and not something that could simply be cast aside after this film - and it doesn’t spoil any details about what happens in between. It’s obvious, based on what Scarlett said, that this will affect Natasha going forward. Mark has no idea what will happen to his character at this point, so that’s probably why he hasn’t mentioned a similar significance within Bruce’s character arc, but no doubt there will be one. Somehow, I don’t think the Russo brothers will just ignore it like certain shippers hope they will.
