' my point exactly ' the drive-in hosting a screening of the graduate as he holds popcorn and soda in hands. it's the last remaining drive-in ; jackson himself donating funds to keep it running. in his youth he had seen STAR WARS , INDIANA JONES , and countless others with his father in this very space. it's humid tonight ; a faint breeze detected as the grounds smell of cotton candy , and burnt popcorn. he's here in his old F-150 , the two toned 95' car that was his fathers but handed down on his sixteenth birthday.
it's an attempt to dull senses and not allow intrusive thoughts to enter. the midnight screening less crowded as he stops for a few seconds. dustin hoffman wearing a scuba suit as he tries desperately to find meaning in a suburban town with parents. he's in the fishbowl , and it's jarringly isolated. jackson had never graduated - nothing significant beyond highschool.
' though as you get older it seems like this movie is one depressing piece of art ' he shoves some popcorn in mouth as head falls to the right. swallowing some coke to follow popcorn and he speaks once more. ' maybe it's because i'm not twenty-one anymore ... ' he then turns from screen to eye the town that surrounds them , ' nothing lasts ' humor gently dusts wording as he then inhales.
' they're playing monty python tomorrow , how do you feel about that ? '
