Happy Wednesday friends and fans!🤩I'm back from Florida and wanted to share a little recap of the trip.
I flew down to Florida for two weeks to help my mom clean up, pack and get the house ready for sale. This was my mom's home for many years while her home in Puerto Rico was being rented. We have a lot of beutiful memories in this home and some not so great but that is all part of the journey. We had some great vacations here as well as this is where we lost our step-dad and held our daughter's wedding there in 2021 and the sad part about that is that she is now getting divorced. Another long story of 2024 that I have not shared because my heart is still broken 💔over this.
The emotions were high as mom is getting ready to close a chapter of her life and getting there was not easy but I am proud of her for making the difficult decision for a simpler life in Puerto Rico. 🇵🇷
We went through every little box and container to ensure that we saved all our childhood memories. Christmas decorations, pictures, decorations, kitchen stuff and more. We cried, we laughed and sometimes just sat there in awe of the life my mom has lived and everything she has accomplished. Eleven boxes later (and 9 to Puerto Rico), I await all these precious gifts that I get to now cherish with my family and beyond. It was a blessing to be there and share this with this woman I love and admire so much. 🫶🏼
Thank you to my beautiful friends, Tom and Claire Cunningham for always being my pillars during the difficult times and the boat rides to clear my head and enjoy the beauty of the Alafia River. For making me laugh when I wanted to hide and cry under a rock. To Miriam Cartagena for helping us sort all this stuff out and help me keep my mom somewhat sane. God sent these three angels just for us and I am a grateful child. 🙏🏼
Note of the week?👉🏼Make the best of every moment. Cherish it slowly and without rushing through them for they really do fly by. Sometimes they are preparing you for the storm that is coming ahead and you will need that strength to get you though it.
Love for REAL.
Love always,
Mónica
PS: Thank you to my 🐊🐊friends for hanging out with me across the river! I finally got to see them in action.
