Jay and I have been reviewing activity as it stands in the rp and most of you are doing amazing! We don’t have anyone on current activity check based on the current rules. This post is to let you all know about an update to the rules and some changes in how we are handling activity checks.
Currently we have been doing activity checks every Sunday and Wednesday. Going forward this will be changing, we are no longer going to be doing activity checks on set days. We have noticed a handful of people who are posting once or twice right before they know an activity check is coming, we see this and we notice. Because of this we will be doing them on random days, known only to the two of us when we feel it’s appropriate.
Adding to that, we have decided to change the activity requirements slightly, to once every four days instead of five. This is still less than twice a week and we feel it isn’t overwhelming based on the quality of members that we currently have right now. To go along with this, we will be reviewing activity on a case by case basis and if we find that activity checks are being avoided by just posting one reply every few days, we will reach out to the player. We expect more and most of this roleplay is awesome at it. We are here to have fun and to create great stories!

It’s come to our attention that there’s been some serious issues as far as plotting and threading go. We’ve also had a few people ask about bringing in tertiary characters, and we need to go over why we’re not allowing those into the game yet.
This is first and foremost a gay roleplay designed with character development in mind. That means seeing the growth of your character as a person comes first, and shipping comes second. Please keep that in mind when you pick up secondary characters, because you will not be allowed to bring in a second character if the only plan is to have them ship with someone else.
Which brings us to the second point: shipping. As in, looking to write with other players only for the sake of writing out a relationship or a smutty interaction. If that’s all you’re looking for, you’re not going to have a good time interacting with other characters in the game because you’ll only be doing it to fill a quota not to bubble roleplay instead of taking active, genuine interest. On top of that, it’s become painfully obvious some of you haven’t even read some character biographies. Please READ the character descriptions so that you know what type of a character it is instead of just wanting to roleplay with said character for the sake of their faceclaim.
The third point is respecting player boundaries and limitations. Some people are comfortable writing out smut or things like age gaps, some people are not. Please respect this, and realize that you are responsible for figuring out ways in which your characters could interact with people of all ages and all walks of life that isn’t headed in a sexual direction. Some of the most meaningful relationships in life are those with people we consider friends and chosen family. Too many characters are falling to the wayside because people aren’t interested in shipping or smutting, so they are therefore not interested in writing at all.
This game seeks to raise the bar for gay roleplay in the rp community, where we see a lot of disrespectful fetishism. That is not the type of roleplay we want to foster here. That doesn’t mean every single post has to be a multi-para response or that you can’t have small interactions, or that you can’t have highly sexual characters, or even sinister, darker characters. But we want to see more genuine effort being made to write meaningful, multi-dimensional characters. If you feel like that is asking too much and you cannot dedicate time or thought to playing your characters, this is not the roleplay for you.
Which brings us to the last point. Before you’re allowed to have a third character (and even a second), you need to show genuine interest in writing, being active, and establishing your character as someone who is interesting to write against. Ask yourself, “why would anyone want write with me or my character?” if the answer has nothing to do with the way you portray your character and everything to do with what they look like, then you need to reevaluate their portrayal and ask yourself if what you’re looking is for a standard smut roleplay and not a character development roleplay. We understand that real life comes first, but asking you to fulfill replies at least once every couple of days shouldn’t feel like pulling teeth. We want you here, but we don’t want inactive characters and blogs. For this roleplay to be successful, we need everyone who comes in to commit to remaining active and mindful of their writing.
Please come to the admin team when and if you have any problems with writing, plotting, or anything else so that we can help you. We have offered time and again to do so. We WANT you here, but if you do not bring things up to our attention, we cannot help you.
First of all, we want to thank all of you who helped this place take off and make it one of the most fun RP’s both admin have played in in a while. We appreciate all the plots you came up with, and the stories you wrote with us, as well as the love and creativity you poured into your characters.
Unfortunately, keeping up with the roleplay’s main page as well as our characters is not something either of the admin are able to do at this time, so we’ve decided rather than to pass on the mantle to someone else, that we will close the roleplay for the time being. We created it together, and we’d like to keep it between the two of us. It’s also possible that we may return in the future, but for right now, real life demands both of our full attention and so, we must head out.
We encourage you to keep writing together as you venture out into indie or other groups, and continue to have fun writing. If you wish to continue writing with either or both of us, reach out via our character blogs for more information. The discord will remain up for another week before we close that down as well. Thank you again, we couldn’t have done this without you.
Several of you have been asking us about bringing in a third muse, and we’ve finally made the decision to allow for thirds, although there are caveats.
You must meet and adhere to the following requirements to apply for a third muse:
1. Have two ACTIVE characters: You’re not on activity check, or evading activity check with a single post over a three day period (we see you). You are actually putting out content enough to stay on the dash on an almost daily basis, and are genuinely interested in writing with multiple muses.
2. Your character isn’t created with the sole purpose of shipping with another muse: Not only do we not allow that in the initial application process, but we won’t be allowing it for secondary or tertiary muses. That almost always leads to bubble roleplay, and we want to avoid that. We want all characters to branch out and flourish.
*You ARE allowed to respond to wanted connections, as long as you keep in mind that your character is MORE than just that connection.
3. If you fall into activity check twice in a row on any of your 3, or your activity becomes weak, we may ask you to drop one of the three until you boost your activity again. This also applies to secondary characters.

Coming this weekend, we are going to be starting a new Event! Inspired by member suggestions, we are always open to suggestions on event idea, the next event is going to be a Secret Valentine Blind Date Event. This Event requires a little bit of prep. So we have some requests and some requirements when it comes to participating in the event.
Activity. As the event is involves designated threads, please sign up only if you know you can keep up with it!
To be in the event, you must send in which of characters you want involved before Saturday 02/01 at 12 PM EST.
How will it work?
More details to come once the event begins, but all submitted characters will be randomly assigned a Blind Date. Threads will be set the weekend before Valentine’s Day so they won’t interrupt any ships or couples Valentine’s Dates!
We’re also letting you know that it’s totally okay to put regular threads on hold if you would like to do fresh threads for the event and take it from there once the event starts. Just make sure you reach out to your threading partners if you want to headcanon things to a wrap or if you want to simply put them on hold.

It’s been a crazy time for the admin the past couple of weeks irl, so our activity has tapered a little. One admin is on hiatus, and the other is still here managing through long work days as well, so we thank you for your patience with us while things get back to normal. Life tends to throw wrenches at all the fun like that sometimes, and all we can do is push through it and come out in one piece on the other side.
That being said, we have been lax on activity, but activity checks WILL resume tomorrow. We want to give everyone a heads up that if you need a hiatus, you still need to contact the main about it (it just takes a few seconds!) so we know where you’re at and what you want to do.
