I speak as somebody who grew up in a Muslim family, and I have to say that there isn't enough criticism of Islam from atheists. I'm an atheist now and do my best, but it feels like a losing battle. I sometimes dislike calling myself a liberal, considering we are so tolerant of Islam, but belittle anything to do with Christianity. The word Islamophobia is meaningless and is levelled at anybody who dares to question the faith. They've done a good job of making themselves immune to criticism :(
I, personally, am doing my best as well.  Again, I'm not for criticizing people so much as beliefs.  But unlike Christianity, I don't get the proselytizing of the Islam in my face daily.  I suspect I know more about the Koran than most of my peers, but I still don't know enough to come out of the blue and say that this or that belief is just silly like I can with the Bible.
I don't see it's as really being possible to have "phobia" against a faith. Â Bigotry against people of Arabic decent, yes. Â Am I a "Chirstianophobe" because I cringe whenever I here someone using the Bible as justification for something? Â There are some who would no doubt say so. Â I don't buy into their lack of reasoning here, however.
Still, when a belief...ANY belief, calls for discrimination or enforced ignorance on any grounds, I feel it is our moral duty to speak out against it.
