Крыша палат верхнего уровня монастыря уставлена фигурами, которые снизу я не мог рассмотреть, а поднявшись наверх - не мог понять. Внизу я встретил англоговорящего монаха - огромная редкость в этих краях. Вот что он мне пояснил. В буддийской традиции череп олицетворяет собой непостоянство и пустоту - осознание этих форм помогает избавиться от страха. Страх - единственное, что противостоит любви. Трезубец же олицетворяет незнание, желание/привязанность и гнев - те состояния, которые вызывают страдание. Эти фигуры - простые напоминания о вызовах, которые мы испытываем, наблюдаем, создаём. . The upper level of the monastery chambers is topped with a dozen of element figures. I couldn't see them from down below and when I scaled the supersteep stairs of the structure I couldn't understand what I saw. I was lucky to meet an English speaking monk, who explained to me that the scull symbolizes impermanence, emptiness, realization of which helps remove fear from one's life. Fear is the only thing standing in the way of love. The trident symbolizes ignorance, desire/attachment and anger. Simple reminders of things we face, experience or cause in life daily.
