@rk800devianthunter - birthday stuff
"No," Vivian huffed quietly at him. "It means you should celebrate. The circumstances of your activation are irrelevant. Do you think all humans are born into happy circumstances? It's just...something to celebrate and be happy about. And for the people who love you to celebrate you." Vivian wasn't too sure whether Connor would be too sold on the idea of 'celebrating' himself, but she thought he was pretty great. So did Hank, and really, who needed any other opinion than theirs? "If anyone gives you a hard time today I'll fight them." And sadly, she was telling the truth. She wouldn't let anyone make Connor feel bad about this. He already seemed to beat himself up about it enough. He didn't need any help.
"I want to celebrate you," she added with a soft purr, her arms wrapping loosely around his shoulders as she drew in closer. Her affection likely wouldn't come as a surprise given he'd been dealing with it for nearly a year now. It seemed...strange that had been this long. In a good way. Things had gotten better, at least for her, and she was quite happy with where she was in life. Vivian just hoped that Connor felt the same. At first, it had been confusing for him. His position hadn't been enviable...She just wanted him to be happy too.
"I don't think one android's birthday would be a major day of change. The day Markus and Jericho made their protest was probably one of those days." At least, that would be what she thought qualified as a major day of change. It had changed the entire world and how people looked at androids. Unless they were like her and had admired them from the very beginning. Connor might have had one present the day of his activation and first mission...but definitely not today. Fingers lightly teased his hairline with her nails as she gazed up at him.
"Plus, most religions were founded prior to your existence, and never could have fathomed you. I think today is very positive." Mostly, she just wanted it to be a good experience for him. The start of a new little tradition maybe. Plus, soon would be Halloween, and then her birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. It was a lot to look forward to and she was excited to be sharing it with him. Speaking of, she needed to ask him about the holidays. She wanted him to meet her family at some point...She just wasn't sure how to do it.
Her family knew of her pro-android feelings. They just never knew she actively dated and slept with them. Vivian hadn't been sure how they'd take it or if they could be trusted. Now that androids were free, she didn't need to worry about them turning in any deviants. She just had to worry about gaining their approval and acceptance...which was just another hurdle to her.
"I got you some gifts. A few different things. Some music, some ties, a nice pair of cufflinks..."
