"Okay are you ready??" Youngbae called over the music. "It’s gonna be okay, I wont let him spike your drink or anything!" He gave Dahye a thumbs up.

She shot a look at him. She wasn’t so sure about this- not any more sure than he was, he could tell- but tonight was their night out. It was party night. And they had decided a long time ago that “party night” meant “Do Something Crazy night”. Every time they were together, it was a rule that one of them would move out of their comfort-zone and walk on the wild side.

Tonight it was Dahye’s turn. All she had to do was go up to a complete stranger and flirt. Be sexy. Fall in love maybe. Youngbae wasn’t so sure that it was possible that way, but he wasn’t about to question the situation. That was another rule.

He nudged her a little in the chosen guy’s direction. She sent him another look. “Why are you so eager? Stop!” she panicked.

Youngbae laughed. “You wanna find love dont you? Go get it.”

(/he almost doesn't go to the haunted house. he almost convinces himself that he'd rather stay at home and eat that giant bag of candy he bought more for himself than any trick-or-treaters that might live in the apartment complex, but in the end, he decides that his iron man costume actually needs to see the light of day--of the moon, actually. plus there happens to be a few people he wants to see, so there's also that. however, after standing around outside the haunted house, he finds himself standing alone, waving as his best friend, and best royal friend enter the maze together because he's somehow managed to talk himself--again!--out of it at the last minute. he turns on his iron heel, intending to wait around until they exit, but then he spots a familiar figure. he smiles to himself underneath his iron mask, and casually sidles up to her, sliding to stand right beside dahye) hello, civilian, do you happen to need some saving? (/and he's glad that he has the mask on, because he's already broken role by the stupid grin on his face)

speed bumps — dahye & daesung

It's a golden rule that no lasting friendship can be maintained without a few fights and clashes... or so they say. Daesung tries to keep that thought in mind as he stares at his silent phone, stubbornly placed far out of his reach. Crossing his arms around his head and pressing his cheek to the marble countertop, a heavy sigh escapes his lips. This was so childish, ignoring each other after a fight, but his relationship with Dahye had always been a bit rash— always quick to fluctuate between extreme highs and lows. This time, it seemed like they had hit rock bottom again. Daesung's eyebrows knit together as slight annoyance pricked him, ruffling his (rarely present) ego. When was she finally going to learn that spending money buying things she already had would put her in trouble? Daesung had just been trying to help when he stopped her from buying the umpteenth bracelet. The premonition of some strong annoyance had weighed down his words but he had spit them out anyway— big mistake.

So now he was there in his kitchen, sulking silently with his eyes fixed on his phone. It had already been days since their fight and although guilt had rapidly overtaken him, any anger evaporating mere minutes after they had stormed off, he still believed that for once he was the one who deserved an apology. For once, it would be up to Dahye to swallow her pride and call him.... that's how it was supposed to be, right? Wrong? Should he really have left her to her wishes? Did he have any say in her life? Hadn't he just been looking out for her?... Was she okay? Was she still that upset at him?

Daesung groans and shakes his head, rubbing his steadily freezing cheek on the cold surface. Why were they making things complicated?...
