Wake Up

After the beginning of the year and the special stages that came with them, Seulgi’s life had been going back into the normal routine of practice, school, and trying to hang out with Yooa when time permitted.  It kept her busy, but there really wasn’t much change going on.  Today was a particular day where the day to day routine had been dragging on her. 

Sometimes, this routine led to Seulgi feeling a bit tired. Granted, she really often was tired, taking naps in what free time she did have, but today, the sleepiness was grabbing her, making her practically fall asleep as she was waiting around after practice, sitting on one of the benches, her head dropping down and then jerking up as she fought off the power of drowsy.

Okay, so maybe taking beginners for guitar was a bit stupid, considering that she was actually pretty good at it. But the way she saw it, if she chose an instrument she was talented at, then that way the performance would go off without a hitch for her, showcasing her talents.

It seemed like such a great idea, one so original and amazing that no one could have possibly thought it up. She deserved a pat on the back, really...

Except that practically everyone in the class had come up with the same idea, from the looks of it. Or were just really awesome at picking up instruments right off the bat. Some were most definitely better than her.

Amber resisted the urge to sigh, fingers flexing around the neck of her guitar, and continued to scope out the 'competition'. Everyone was strumming away without a hitch, faces pinched in concentration. Others were looking around the room as well with narrowed eyes as well, so she made sure not to make awkward eye contact with them.

Then her eyes settled on someone struggling with playing the guitar. His fingers were awkward over the strings, and was he...playing from the bottom up? The instructor had gone over the basics on how to play; it appeared that he missed the memo.

She appraised him for a moment longer, then made up her mind and got up, making her way over, and sat down in the empty chair next to him.

"First time?"
