A Letter To Those at RKO Con
The weekend is over and I can’t thank all of you enough for such a wonderful time! On behalf of myself and the entirety of the RKO Army, we thank all of you for traveling to the smallest state and putting your trust in us to run yet another con. I thank Erik and his team for always hosting parties that no one could ever compare to and for making said parties one of RKO’s most highlighted moments. Thank you to Larry Viezel for giving us a glimpse at the first twenty-five minutes of the Rocky Reboot and for not disappointing. Thank you to Chris Trainer for allowing the rest of the world to watch our con on a live stream and for opening your hotel room to the rest of the con. Thank you to Jacqueline for being my tagalong buddy and making this con more special than I could have imaged. A special thank you to Zephyr and Amy for putting their heart and soul into the most amazing RKO preshow ever. Even though it wasn’t seen the way it was intended, we hope everyone was able to see how much work they put into it and how we wouldn’t have had such a preshow without them. And I send off a special thank you to Roy Rossi for being the best cast leader one could ever ask for and a leader to the rest of the community. He is one of the most genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and without him, our cast and our cons would not be what they are today.
On a personal note, I am glad to have met the people I did. Be our meeting have been backstage, wandering the streets of Rhode Island, running about the theatre, partying at the ‘No Picnic Party’, or just in passing, I am grateful to have met all of you. I can’t wait to reconnect with some of the great people I met at this con. I will be forever honored to be a part of the RKO Army, as I would not be the person I am today without them. I joined the cast when I was a troubled fourteen year old kid who had no real place and within them, I found my home. I love this community for coming together and sharing their time to make memories no one will forget.
We all hope we met your expectations and that you had an amazing weekend you won’t forget. See you again at RKO Con 3 in 2019!
For those who may know me through this or perhaps didn’t catch the entirety of my name – my name is Alex Brown. I hope to see some friend requests from the awesome people at this con soon!
