SOMETHING SPOOKY IS IN THE AIR: IT’S HALLOWEEN!

If you’ve started hearing the spooky whispers of the night even during the day, then you must know what time of the year it is! Halloween is just around the corner and everybody is getting ready to commemorate it their own way.

Halloween may not be widely celebrated in South Korea compared to the United States, but stores all over the city are still selling costumes, decorations, and candy for Halloween, and both tricks and treats abound this October. If you’re more on the creative side (and money is tight!), you can always opt to make your own costume and sweets to celebrate. No one ever said Halloween is strictly for children, so embrace your inner child and go all out for some spooky fun!

For the most courageous of souls, you may even find it thrilling to enter a haunted house in the heart of the Gangnam district that’s set up to scare whoever tries to visit it. (But, if you’re too easily scared, make sure to bring a change of clothes or else you might fall victim to spooky wet pants!) Those who successfully come out of the haunted house alive will win a tiny ghost pin, so steel up your best courage before you try it out.

Lotte World is also going all out with their spooky celebrations, at least after 8:30pm, where the Lotte World Magic Island is overtaken by zombies and other frights. Rides also run until 5 AM! For children (and fearful adults), Lotte World’s festivities are far less sinister during the day. They include Halloween face painting, flash mobs, parades, and storytelling. The amusement park’s event runs through November 6th.  

For those who hate these spooky kinds of festivities, don’t you worry! If you’d like to spend your time complaining about the excessive pumpkin decorations instead, no one is going to stop you (in fact, some might even secretly agree with you.)

For +2 POINTS TO DISTRIBUTE AS YOU WISH: write a four post thread or a 250+ words solo about your character enjoying any Halloween festivities in any way. This can be about the costume-picking process, trick-or-treating, attending a Halloween party with your friends, braving the haunted house, enjoying (or despising) Halloween at Lotte World, complaining about Halloween, or anything else you can think of, so long as it covers your character’s celebration of the holiday!

For +3 CREATIVITY: it’s au time! Make a gifset/edit of your character’s costume, or if your character isn’t dressing up, anything to suit the Halloween theme. If you’d rather, you can write a 250+ word AU solo or four post thread to suit the theme and earn the points instead. Now’s your chance for your character to live their spooky monster or superhero dreams-- you could even write up a better vampire and werewolf love story than Twilight. Feel free to use your imagination! You’re free to make as many edits and AUs as you’d like, but you can only receive the points available once.

Please tag all your posts related to the event with #rkspooky and have them up by midnight EST at the end of November 8th. There is no verification form for this event, so you may add the points to your tally sheet as soon as you have met the requirements, and link your posts as proof. Threads may be continued after the deadline, however, after November 8th points may no longer be collected for them.

Remember that even if Halloween is all in good fun, this holiday comes with many potential triggers that may affect our members negatively. Please don’t forget to use trigger warnings accordingly for both posts and pictures so everyone can have fun!

to be honest, he’s incredibly nervous. he’d given mingyu full control over his costume choice since the older had revealed his plans falling spookily in line with all of won’s hopes and dreams for the frightful season, so really, he shouldn’t have any worries, but— well— what if? what if his costume isn’t up to mingyu’s expectations? what if he’s not the right shade of green and it’s all wrong? what if— what if— what if and it’s driving him crazy. his fingers are shaking as he balls them into a fist, trembling in a way that’s completely unfamiliar to him when it comes to mingyu. he’s felt nervous around him hundreds of times before ( even after all this practice, he still worries that his lies about his feelings for him are transparent ) but not enough so that he can’t even bring himself to knock on the door. this door is the portal to the place he feels most safe in the world and yet, he can’t get within an inch of it without cowering back in fear. 

he groans quietly, and in a moment of pure frustration, bangs against the door, realising a second later that he had, in effect, knocked. he wonders if it’s too late to run— if mingyu would see him retreat like a coward. 

( but he stands there thinking about it so long that it is and he has no choice but to straighten out his clothes, take a deep breath and hope. )

🎃This Is Halloween! ft. Chaeyoung

It was no surprise to anyone that Tzuyu was actually excited about today, being dressed up as one of her many favorite characters ‘Harley Quinn’, celebrating Halloween at Lotte World and especially doing all this with one of her great friends of course. She remembered the first time that her and Chaeyoung had met one another, the two meeting through Chaeyoung’s cousin who attends SOPA like Tzuyu does. If it weren’t for the other female then Chaeyoung and her probably wouldn’t have met and become such good friends, and if they hadn’t met then she wouldn’t have someone like the other to lean on and talk to when she needed someone.

Tzuyu thought back to a couple days before when the two of them were sitting down and talking about what they planned on doing. They decided that it would be rather fun to have Halloween at Lotte World, talking about what they would dress up as and even getting excited about what all the two of them would do. Tzuyu was dressed as Harley Quinn from head to toe, her hair had been dyed blonde with pink and blue in it, she had ordered the whole outfit of Harley Quinn’s online - even though it had cost quite a bit to do so - and she even spent about an hour doing her make up as well.

The two had decided to meet one another in front of Lotte World at a certain time, however Tzuyu was so excited that she sort of - accidentally - showed up a little too early, and now she was standing there waiting. She occasionally looked at the time on her phone, pausing the game she was playing while she waited in order to do so, and when it finally reached the time the two had agreed on she locked her phone before she began looking around for her friend. It didn’t take long to spot the other though and when she did she put on a big smile, waving her arms in the air as she called out to the other female, her tone sounding a little too excited. “Chaeyoung! I’m over here!” She yells this as loud as she can and ignores the looks she receives from others and just runs over to her female friend, giving the other a big hug. “You made it!" She accidentally shouts this as she’s hugging Chaeyoung, probably deafening the other as she does so.

jeongguk glances at himself in the mirror, doing some last minute touch ups on the fake blood that drips from the corner of his mouth. it’s silly, the whole thing, but he’s done his best to make it look good. a choker rests snug on his throat, eyes rimmed with black and hair a bit messy. he grins at himself in the mirror, a flash of shitty plastic fangs that are actually extremely uncomfortable, so he spits them into the trash can by the sink. halloween can live without another set of plastic vampire fangs.

a quick swipe of his tongue over his canines reassures him that he doesn’t really need fake vampire teeth.

he snatches his phone as he leaves his apartment, shooting a quick text to yoongi that he’s heading to the club right now and that he’ll meet him there. it’s a chilly walk, hands shoved in his jacket pockets. the fact that he’s wearing nearly all leather isn’t helping that much, but he pushes through it until he finally gets to the destination, eager to get inside and find a drink while he waits for his favorite hyung.

jeongguk barely gets in his order--some halloween special concoction--before he spots a mop of blue hair, grinning widely as he saunters away from the bar to approach him from behind. his arms loop around the older male before he can stop himself, leaning down ( it’s almost cute, how much smaller his hyung is compared to him ) to bite yoongi’s neck just to be obnoxious, but also because he’s a vampire tonight, remember? he laughs, unable to hold it in as he pulls away from yoongi’s neck.

“hi, hyung. sorry if i startled you.”

(/things have been going very strangely since discovering those colored coins. a chunk of his memory is missing, he’s at peak performance even before his injury, and he feels a strange pull to return to the source of all their problems: the old gold mine. every horror story or alien myth leads him to believe that it’s the last place he should go snooping around, but despite his every instinct telling him to leave it alone, he finds himself back---and he knows he’s not going to be alone) --- (/gravel crunches under his feet as he makes his way down into the caves created from the blast and he finds a familiar face there already) tiffany. (/he makes his way toward her, hand in his pocket, bringing out the red-colored coin) you’ve been experiencing weird things, too. (/it’s more of a statement than an answer, because he knows he can’t be the only one) wild, right?
