          While they were slumped at his desk, bored out of their minds, he popped off the cap of a marker and doodled small, goofy faces on the back of her hand. "How is it even possible for us to be bored? Don't you have a game or something we can play?" ( Peter )

         “How can we be this bored? Peter, we spen’ tha mornin’ literally tryna bring groceries in through tha pourin’ rain.”

          And then they at least wanted an hour to dry off. Well, Nicole did. Sure she could change clothes, but her hair could only dry so fast. With Peter drawing on the back of his hand, Nicole herself soon reached for a marker. Another color of course, but she does start drawing a goofy face of her own on his wrist.

          He was questioning her of a game they could play. In her mind, Animal Crossing was the first thing that came to mind. It was something that could be done all day every day. Not to mention it was incredibly fun, and Peter could help her out in her town. At the very latest, he could.

         “...Go ge’ yer switch. We’re gonna decorate my house.”

"So, you know how I got bit by a spider and got powers like one, right? Okay, so— I know you already have awesome abilities, but if you could get bit by any animal and get some of their traits, which would it be? Can't take spider. That's mine." ( Peter )

        {/Sitting up from her spot on the table, she gives a small hum of thought before turning and resting her feet on Peter. Her choice might be able to escape and do anything, but she cannot. And she will take advantage of Peter being next to her.}

         “Hmm…a mouse. Did ya know a mouse can fi’ i’s whole body inta anythin’ i’ can ge’ it’s head inta? Tha’ would be grea’ fer escapin’. ‘Er even jus’ hidin’. No’ ta mention, mice can survive jus’ abou’ any environmen’, an’ are pretty adep’ swimmers. Mos’ people hate rodents…bu’ they’re like…tha ultimate survivors an’ scavengers.”

"What? Oh, yeah. I — I may have been hit by a train during our trip. It's no big deal. Happy took care of me, and I'm fine! See?" ( Peter )

         “Peter– tha’ ain’…le’s…”

        {/There were so many things she wanted to say. However, she couldn’t express her concern in a proper way to convey just how scared that sentence alone made her. Peter was strong, she’s not going to deny that in any sense. And frankly…like many bugs, he could easily take a hit, or a drop, and get back up and scuttle along…however like bugs, there were limits. She’s sure getting hit by a train was one of them.

          And while she definitely trusted Happy to be able to take care of Peter…there was still something that could be done more than bandaging and stitching.

          Walking right over to Peter, she takes hold of his wrist so he can’t pull away from her. He as a good kid and she trusted him, however, she wanted to check him out herself and make sure he’s okay.}

         “Take off yer shirt. I wanna see. An’ yer gonna do i’ ‘er I’m tellin’ Auntie an’ Ned.”

While dangling his head upside down from the top bunk, a question popped into Peter's head. "Hey, Nic, who's your favorite superhero? I don't think I ever asked you before."

         “–Peter, are ya fishin’ fer compliments from me?”

        {/He was expecting her to say Spider-man, right? Right. She’s absolutely sure of it. For a moment, Nicole just pulls her eyes away from him and looks back down at the game she had been playing. Honestly…so rude. Interrupting her game just for some compliments and validation. Which…was actually pretty valid, if she had to say so. Nicole understands how hard it can get sometimes, and just knowing someone thinks well of you can do a helluva difference in your mood.

          With a small hum, Nicole lowers her game from her face to peer back at Peter. She’s pretty sure he wouldn’t like her answer, but at least she’d get some amusement out of him.}

         “Well. I don’ have a favorite outta tha ones youse know. I mean…they’re all okay. Bu’…I guess if I had ta pick a favorite, i’s tha kid starin’ a’ me righ’ now. No’ ‘Spider-Man’. Bu’ Peter Parker. Tha boy who’s balancin’ bothf his life an’ his duty as a hero. Tha guy who does wha’ he can ta make sure tha city is okay, an’ his family. Doin’ his homework, stoppin’ crooks….all tha’. A guy as young as him who’s literally basically…doin’ everythin’ an’ then some? Tha’s my favorite.”

While they're sitting out on the fire escape, little plates of store bought cake in their hands, he takes a clump and mushes it into her face with a snicker. "Is it any good?" ( Peter )

         “Peter wha’–!!!!”

        {/How could he!? Now Nicole has a face full of cake, and it’s his fault. Quickly wiping off a large portion of her cake, she thinks of smushing her own back in his face to get him back. However…they’re outside. And if Peter’s neighbors are out, they’ll see them. What’s better than embarrassing him? Leaning over, she kisses his cheek. Not only does she embarrass him with affection, but she’s giving him a ton of cake on his face too!}

There's only one slice of pizza left, and he's eyeing it. "Who's gettin' that?" ( peter )

         “–Tha person who deserves i’ tha mos’.”

        {/And by that, she means her. Nicole loves Peter with all her heart, but there is no such thing as sharing when it comes to pizza. There’s a glance at Peter, and before he has a chance to move, Nic is up from her seat and running right for that last slice.}

         “...”

        {/All Nicole could do was let Peter talk. Let him get it out of his system and just express his feelings. She could hear it. She could hear his heart breaking, a crack with every tear he shed over this. Nicole can’t say she shared his sentiments. Tony was just a public figure to her. No personal attachment to him at all. But seeing Peter mourning someone he knew to basically be a parental figure in his life was just saddening. Still holding him, she nuzzled her head into his. Just trying to share her warmth and affection for him, to let Peter know that she was going to be there for him.

          Quietly, Nicole kisses the side of his head. A soft, small one. No intentions of embarrassing him, but attempting to shower him in enough love so he’ll remember he still has people here who are there for him.}

         “Hey...Peter. Ya didn’ do nuffin’ wrong. Ya haven’ done anythin’ wrong. Ya jus’...go’ deal’ a bad pair o’ cards. Tha only thin’ ya can do is keep playin’ an’ see where i’ goes. Yer a smar’ guy. Youse can easily win this game, figure i’ ou’. Bu’ don’ ferge’...ya still have a buncha good cards in yer hand.”

        {/Pulling back from him just slightly, she keeps one arm around him and uses her free hand to wipe the tears off his face. It was natural for this. But not for him to blame himself for all of this. It wasn’t fair to him.}

         “--I know yer Spider-Man an’ everythin’...bu’ yer still a kid. Ya haven’ lived long enough ta warran’ any of this happenin’. Neither did tha res’ of ‘em. I’ was tha actions o’ someone who didn’ value yer lives. Jus’ cause somethin’ bad happens doesn’ mean ya deserved i’. M’kay? Maybe...i’ happened ta youse cause yer strong enough ta handle i’. Try thinking of i’ like tha’.”

Head in his hands, Peter mumbled to himself. Between his elbows and under his head sat his phone, opened to her channel and the list of recent videos she's posted. "I watched so many, and I didn't even know it was you. What the heck?" ( peter )

         “--I make i’ a habi’ not ta be known, Peter.” {/Although it was surprising, as much time as they spent together how he didn’t recognize her voice or play style. He’s played so many games with her. Nothing changed in her videos. She was always some sort of caster in RPGs, and always a speedster in fighting games. It truly was surprising that he didn’t figure it out.

          Sitting at his computer, she’s making use of the minor editing programs without downloading a plethora of them to his hard drive. Not to mention she has her own flashes for transitions and edits and such. She always came prepared for this kind of thing. Testing the voice levels over the sounds of game play and making sure one doesn’t drown out the other. Making sure everything is in sync, and posting her avatar in the corner just for aesthetic.}

         “Like...I use two differen’ gamin’ handles an’ profiles. I keep my public face an’ personal ones separate. I don’ wan’ people harassin’ a’ school ‘er work ‘er shit fer tips an’ stuff when I tell them jus’ DM me an’ I’ll reply when I can.”
