who even uses cassette tapes anymore | open | RMS
When everyone had entered Town Hall and found a seat to sit in, Monobear began his outrageous announcement of what Raeleigh could only assume was their first motive. Feeling a cold sweat break out on the back of his neck due to the suffocatingly tense atmosphere he couldn’t help but glance around at the other students, would one of them kill this week...?
With a grimace Raeleigh turned his attention back onto Monobear as he began to pass out the old cassette tapes to each and every student in the room as if this were the late 70′s and cassettes were super popular. Being one of the first students to dig around and retrieve the tape with his name on it Raeleigh simply stared at it for a few moments not sure if he should actually listen to this or not. He had no idea what to expect, really.
And just as he could feel himself begin to ask questions of what could possibly be on this tape within the depths of his mind; talking from a bit further down the room graced his ears, snapping him out of his train of grim thoughts rather quickly.
Looking up from the tape and down the room he could find whom that voice belonged to. It was Anri. That blind girl. ...Well, he can’t say he’d be surprised by that considering she probably doesn’t know how to work the damn tape anyways. Weighing out his options of whether or not he should help her or shouldn’t he decided he should. Anri was probably just as confused as the rest of the students, and with ease Raeleigh hoisted himself up from his chair and made his way over to her. She was holding the tape in her hands and he could feel the confusion of what she should do with it oozing from her, so Raeleigh quickly and easily in a soft voice, so he wouldn’t disturb the other students
(because some of them have already begun listening to that damned tapes and were wearing expressions that had him scowling), began to teach Anri just how she should use this tape.
Once Anri is all set up Raeleigh found himself making his way back to his own chair with an air of somberness around him. Lazily plopping back down into the chair unceremoniously as he brought his own tape’s headphones to his ears he decided he should just get this over with quickly.
...What wonderful things graced his ears as he hit play only made his resolution and preparation for whatever was on this falter. Raeleigh’s eyes were wide filled with shock as a horrified expression now wormed its way onto his face.
He... was not expecting this. It was the sounds of both his father and mother talking about him... At first, he was happy to hear their voices again, but... He brought a hand up to his mouth still horrified. He didn’t want to hear them like this... Saying these things he was certain they’d never, ever say before... It was enough to have him toss off his headphones in a panic.
At Monobear’s last little bit of information, ending the motive announcement, Raeleigh found himself rushing out the door and away from Town Hall. He... Didn’t want to remain in there any longer. He just wanted to be alone, to collect himself properly, so... So he wouldn’t be feeling this anxious. Angrily wiping at his eyes with his sleeves Raeleigh found himself entering one of the Restaurants in emotional turmoil.
Picking a seat far in the corner of the restaurant as away from everything as it could be he... slumped down in it, pulling his knees to his chest clutching them tightly. Monobear had said he also had their families at the end of that announcement...
Unable to hold back his sobs and intense anxiety any longer Raeleigh could feel himself letting out shakily quick breaths with his quiet sobbing. He hated feeling like this. He hated feeling so... Useless and vulnerable. The most he could do was pray no one found him like this at this point.
