          ANNA knew her friend was just trying to be sympathetic in some way, but it wasn’t the most helpful. then again, there was only so much he could do about the day she had. “ i’ve always had quite the imagination, but... these dreams are just too far !! ” she shook her head, fighting back a yawn. “ i’m hardly sleeping, and i still can’t believe i fell asleep behind my desk today. and worst of all... i hate coffee. like, what am i even supposed to even do? ” she asked ; she didn’t expect an actual answer. it just felt like nothing was going her way. “ all this, and i can’t even buy my favorite ice cream. humph.... ”

                       jack glanced over at him, an eyebrow raised before smiling and nodding from atop the ladder. he was mostly hidden behind a massive canvas, painting a landscape backdrop for the theater department at his school. it was a project he honestly shouldn’t have taken on alone, but he was ambitious and found it relaxing to get to paint something to massive all on his own. “ yeah !! can you toss me the brush that’s curved on the end and about... ” he paused, holding out his hand to show the width. “ this wide ?? ” he smiled thankfully. “ I should’ve gotten a wider ladder for this so I could keep them all up here with me. ” he laughed, wiping at his forehead.

out  of  ALL  the  people  in  this  stupid  town,  of  course  she  managed  to  run  into  ARCHIE  ANDREWS.  the  person  she’s  been  avoiding  since  the  sophomore  year  of  high  school.  not  because  he  was  a  bad  person,  or  because  he  annoyed  her ( surprisingly ),  but  because  he  was  associated  with  her  idea  of  pure  humiliation.  long  story  short,  she  wanted  to  dust  off  the  gay  rumors  while  simultaneously  proving  to  herself  she  was  dateable,  and  she  asked  him  out.  big  mistake  that  was.  and  although  she  doesn’t  hate  him,  she’s  tried  her  best  not  to  interact  with  him  again.  even  if  he  was  at  her  work  she’d  give  a  smile  and  try  to  keep  the  conversation  to  a  minimum.  but  today  she  just  had  to  go  out  for  a  skate,  didn’t  she?  and  nearly  crash  into  the  redhead.  god  kill  her  now.  she  debated  whether  or  not  she  could  pretend  she  didn’t  recognize  him,  but  knew  ultimately  it  wouldn’t  work.

CLOSED STARTER FOR: orpheus && archie andrews ( @rndzvus​​ ) setting: outside some cafe, mid-morning.

          ORPHEUS knew a fellow musician when he saw one, and the curly haired fellow in front of him was surely one. there was no real dead give away, per se, but he had an almost unnatural connection to the rhythm and rhyme of the world. plus, he liked to think he had great instincts. clutching the guitar strap that hugged his chest, he offered smile as he asked, “ you play? ”
