so this is the very first Valevans fic I ever read, and trust me it started the shenanigans that is my writing because it was handled so well. Like Max’s amnesia making him come to terms with feelings? Liz/Jenna as a background couple? What more could I ask for?

(writer’s summary) Canon-inspired AU where Max doesn't quite recover his memories the way he does in the show, and as a result, Max gets to act on a long suppressed crush.

Welcome to the RNM Create Week 2022 - from September 5th to September 11th

Once again, we’re back to celebrate the wonderful creators in this fandom! 

This fandom has gifted us with talented and creative people who share with us their creation, and time has come to give back to them the love they pour on every creation. We are immensely lucky to have them all, let’s show them our appreciation for their work this year. Given that we're running towards the final season's finale, let's bask in the wonderful creations we have loved, and keep loving, this year.

Rules:

You can share as many creations as you want for each prompt.

Tag the creator as you share the links to their creations. If possible, link us all to their Ao3 profile if they have one.

Tag each post with rnmcreate22 in the first 5 tags so we can track it and reblog it. Alternatively, you can also tag us at @roswellnewmexicocreate just in case posts get lost in the tags.

Character: every character in the show have their own depth and development. We would love to know which creations focusing on a particular character are your favorites. Let us know why they are masterpieces!

Day 3: September 7th, 2022

Angst: some creators are truly experts in the art of ripping our hearts out with their angsty works, whether they have a happy ending or not. Share with us those works that are meant to break us! 

Day 4: September 8th, 2022

Alternate Universe (AU): even though we all love canon, we also enjoy our characters and ships in different universes. Share with us those creations that take the characters out of the world we all know and make them live a different life!

Day 5: September 9th, 2022

Dynamics: family, friendship or romantic, a good dynamic is something to be cherished. Let’s share those creations that focus on a relationship you enjoy, canon or not!

RNM Create 22 (Day Two - character)

I only have one fic to rec as it’s basically the only RNM fic that I’ve read more than 10 times (😂) is it because it’s kinky? Focuses primarily on Alex? Just a damn fucking fun fic to read? The answer to all of the above is yes.

I’ve Been High and I’ve Been Low by Malzysaur

Summary: Alex goes looking for the secrets Deep Sky is hiding. He stumbles upon something he was not prepared for.

My Thoughts: written for RNM After Dark in 2021, it’s a brilliant mix of kink and intrigue… plus the inclusion of Eduardo as a not-so-innocent bystander adds even more spice(?) to the deliciousness of this fic. Did I mention plant-like tentacles???

So maybe it’s not a brilliant character study of anyone from the series but damn it’s a good read of Alex having himself a good unforgettable time

(writer’s summary) Once upon a time, in a cold grey castle lived a princess.

She wasn’t a particularly good princess. She abhorred courtly dances and constantly mixed up the dozens of courtiers and cousins, ambassadors and knights she was supposed to know. For sure, she was beautiful, kind and charming, and the court could do nothing but sing her praises out loud. But privately they whispered that she was too headstrong and sharp tongued. What could be expected from the daughter of a witch? Best to marry her off quickly to an obscure fourth or fifth son and forget she ever existed.

Thankfully, Maria never much cared for what fat, old courtiers thought of her. She was the daughter of the most powerful seer in five generations. And she had a destiny. One that wasn’t going to be fulfilled sitting prim and proper by the side of a dull prince whose wits were as soft as his hands.

Announcing Roswell New Mexico Creators Appreciation Week 2022

Let’s celebrate the outstanding, creative people this fandom has gifted us with! We are just immensely lucky to have them all, so why don’t we show them our appreciation for all of their work this year as well?

Incase y’all haven’t noticed I’m completely normal about Kaliz, and this is one of their sweetest fics, all three of them are just living their dreams (writer’s summary) “Honey?” Prince Max called, opening the door to the dungeon.

Princes didn’t ordinarily look for their princesses in the dungeons, but Liz had a laboratory down here that she (and he) liked to keep away both from prying eyes and from furniture and tapestries she might damage.

“Down here, babe!” Liz called. She waved at him on the top of the stairs, lifting her clear-glass goggles on top of her head. She looked adorably disheveled, and she had obviously ruined another gown, which didn’t bother Max but was going to annoy the tailor very much. “You’ll want to see this!”

Waking up early because it’s been a shitty night of restless, anxiety-induced sleeplessness, so you might as well get up anyways, especially when that lack of sleep is caused by romantic problems? Not very responsible or adult-y. And he doesn’t think the specific romantic troubles he’s having are ones most other late-twenty-somethings have to deal with either
