Carter shakes your hand and grins. His teeth are so bleached, you’re honestly surprised that you can’t see through them.

“You know, I’d say that you’ve been avoiding me, Colonel,” he drawls.

You laugh like Carter has said the funniest thing you've ever heard and Killian shoots you a fierce warning look that you rather cheerfully ignore.

"You know, it is astounding to me that someone of your room temperature IQ could actually figure out that I'm avoiding them."

Carter blinks rapidly for a few seconds, proving your point about the IQ, before his face blooms ruddy in anger. Killian immediately steps in as the mediator.

"I apologise for the colonel, their sense of humour is an acquired taste," they start steering Carter away from you, talking the man's ear off and sufficiently confusing him enough that he completely forgets to be angry at you.

Carter's assistant, whose name you never bothered to learn however, is much sharper than their boss. Although, not by much. Slightly above room temperature you'd gander. They push their glasses up and turn that steely gaze on you.

"I weep for the state of humanity if you're the best we have to offer."

"Are you okay?" Mock sympathy coats your tone.

They shift on their feet and clear their throat, before nodding sharply. "Of course. Why?"

You shrug, "just figured that someone as full of shit as you should probably see a doctor."

Before they can utter a word in response, you turn around and walk away, whistling for Dog to come to heel.

You'll probably have a complaint put in against you, but you'll also probably be violently killed by a Kaiju soon, so that's honestly the least of your worries right now.

What's the latest/earliest MC and Killian had to get up for a breach event?

I remember the first movie starting in the AM and it made me wonder who'd be the most awake/sleepiest between MC and Killian.

Killian is one of those people that are awake no matter what time it is. It scares the living daylights out of Ciaran and Brin wants to do experiments on them. I suppose it depends on your MC but personally I’d be the sleepy one esp early in the morning.

I think the worst they ever had was after a twelve hour shift of nothing but shit, they finally got to go to sleep and then had an emergency five minutes later and had to haul ass into their jaeger 😭

I’m think they’d enjoy a simple engagement and wedding.

Killian’s ideal wedding would be in the woods with lights strung up in all the trees and flowers everywhere. They’re not big on being the centre of attention so just having close family and friends at their wedding would be enough for them.

Public engagements are a hard no, it will make them extremely uncomfortable.

I think they’d enjoy a spontaneous proposal. You’re just looking at them doing something entirely mundane like reading a book or watering the plants or cuddling Dog when you realise you want to see this sight for the rest of your life and ask them to marry you then and there. The rings and everything else can come later, in that moment, it’s just about you and Killian and the future you’ll have together.

As for how they’d propose to you, I think Killian would arrange a picnic for dinner on one of the viewing platforms that give you a stunning view of the stars. Then once you’d eaten, they’d start pointing out constellations and then they’d pull out the ring as you were looking for them. You’d look back at Killian to see them holding out the ring and smiling.

Ciaran’s already making funeral arrangements and moving Dog in rolling their eyes. “As if you’re going to die with me by your side…Dog would never let me give them belly rubs again.”

Killian takes it a bit more seriously. “Of course I would, you know I’d do anything for you and Dog,” they’d reply with a small smile. “But I think both Dog and I would prefer you with us so try to stay alive.”

Zai says yes so fast that you half think xe wants you to drop dead so xe can have Dog. “Of course we would, we’d give them the best life ever! They could sleep in our bed and play with Ferelith and get the tastiest treats…” That goes on for a while before Brin places their hand over Zai’s mouth. “As Zai said, we would of course take care of Dog, but we’d prefer to have you remain apart of this unit we’ve forged…so don’t be an idiot out there.”

Ajax looks at Dog, Dog gives Ajax the nastiest side eye known to dogkind. “I have a feeling that Dog would send me to the afterlife with you if I tried to take them,” they’d say, still watching Dog warily. “Probably best that you retire now and preserve your life.”
