Can I have some Brin and Zai facts please 🥺 I love their dynamic already

Ah I’m glad! I can give you some facts, but like with Senan, they aren’t fully fleshed out as characters yet, so there won’t be loads.

100% inspired by Newt and Hermann’s old married couple relationship from the film.

Brin is in a wheelchair due to a neonatal spinal injury, it was incomplete, but they were never able to fully recover.

Zai struggles with making eye contact and uses xyr glasses as a barrier. Xe also dislikes crowds, and fidgets with their clothes and/or accessories when anxious. Brin is one of the only people that xe feels truly comfortable with, hence the attitude xe gets around them.

They’re very tactile with each other, but they don’t seem to notice. When the MC was being their usual bastard self, they mentioned it and Brin and Zai barely looked at each other for days before eventually naturally slipping back into it. The MC actually felt a little bad for once, or at least getting chewed out by Cináed made their ears feel bad.

Both scientists were very wary of the MC and their reputation when they first met them. However, apart from some silly comments (because hah humour), the MC was incredibly respectful of their work and that put them at ease somewhat.

If the MC has a science-based background, that definitely gets them brownie points.

Brin still needs some work, but Zai is definitely more open around the MC now (although they still struggle with eye contact).

Due to their work place being highly military-focused, the soldiers can sometimes get too rowdy and that made Zai uncomfortable in the first few days of being there. It didn’t take long for Brin to notice, nor did it take long for Brin to take them all down a peg. Zai would probably cite that as the moment xyr crush developed.

Brin is very protective of Zai, but like Cináed (seriously they should make a club), they can’t have Zai knowing that, so they can be a bit of a dick at times. It’s almost worth it to see Zai fire back though.

how would the ro's react if mc asked them, "If i die, will you take care of (insert mc's dogs name here) for me?"

Ciaran’s already making funeral arrangements and moving Dog in rolling their eyes. “As if you’re going to die with me by your side…Dog would never let me give them belly rubs again.”

Killian takes it a bit more seriously. “Of course I would, you know I’d do anything for you and Dog,” they’d reply with a small smile. “But I think both Dog and I would prefer you with us so try to stay alive.”

Zai says yes so fast that you half think xe wants you to drop dead so xe can have Dog. “Of course we would, we’d give them the best life ever! They could sleep in our bed and play with Ferelith and get the tastiest treats…” That goes on for a while before Brin places their hand over Zai’s mouth. “As Zai said, we would of course take care of Dog, but we’d prefer to have you remain apart of this unit we’ve forged…so don’t be an idiot out there.”

Ajax looks at Dog, Dog gives Ajax the nastiest side eye known to dogkind. “I have a feeling that Dog would send me to the afterlife with you if I tried to take them,” they’d say, still watching Dog warily. “Probably best that you retire now and preserve your life.”

ROs in a competition to get the most numbers: how's it going for each of them?

Most -> Least

Killian -> Zai -> Brin -> Ciaran -> Ajax

Killian doesn’t even have to try, they’re the base darling. Everyone and their grandma has a crush on Killian. The problem is that they’d probably get mobbed.

Zai is a total sweetheart, but xe isn’t above bribery in the form of letting people cuddle Ferelith in exchange for numbers.

Brin has that hot, unattainable vibe going for them so people are so shocked that they’re even acknowledging their existence that they hand over their numbers before they even realise what they’re doing.

Ciaran, while very attractive, is so prickly/grumpy towards people when they ask that most people would think Ciaran’s being held at gunpoint. Some give it to them and some would want to save themselves the inevitable disappointment.

Ajax is obnoxious and cocky and everyone delights in turning them down :)

Queeestion, if the MC was able to read minds for a day, what would be the first thing they'd "hear" from the ROs? Pre-relationship, in crushing stage? 👀

Let’s say they’ve just seen MC walk into a room…

Ciaran: it should be illegal for someone to be that attractive, it’s like they were put on this earth just to torment me.

Killian: they look happy, I just wish it was genuine.

Brin: I suppose falling for them as well isn’t the worst mistake I’ve made…

Zai: I wonder if they want to exercise Ferelith with Brin and I later? We’d all enjoy having them around.

Ajax: how should I get their attention today?

What were the ro’s first impressions of mc when they first met them? 👀

I mean it would kind of depend on your MC’s personality back then, but I’ll try to do a general sense lol.

Ciaran: was pretty awe-struck the first time they saw the MC, but how they felt upon actually meeting them would depend on your MC’s former personality. Either way, over time Ciaran starts to resent the MC for always being the best (or at least that’s what they mistake that weird feeling in their chest for).

Killian: met MC at the academy (MC was in their final few weeks of training and Killian had graduated a couple of years previous). They felt drawn to MC and sparred with them on a whim which ultimately led to the realisation that there was a potential drift compatibility there and Killian offering them a trial as their new partner.

Brin: was quite wary of the MC when they first met them (esp if you choose the soldier background) and not all that willing to make nice. How long it takes them to warm up to your MC would depend on their former personality.

Zai: was even more wary of the MC than Brin, but xyr pretty nervous of new people in general. Xe definitely warmed up to MC faster than Brin though, esp if MC was kind to xem or showed interest in Zai’s work.

Ajax: vaguely met MC a few year before the Tragedy and they found them pretty interesting (no matter your MC’s previous personality) which is partly why they latch onto MC at this point in the story.
