Second Memories of Death RO
Kade Winchester | 23 | 6'1” | Male | Dorky Sniper
Despite being born before the apocalypse Kade does not remember the three years he lived before he and his parents were forced to hide in their fallout shelter. His first real memory is of a vague recollection of cement walls covered in brightly colored fabric and his parents discussing leaving the bunker when he was four. With both, his mothers being hardcore doomsday preppers Kade was undoubtedly much luckier than the bulk of humanity.
After leaving their bunker Kade and his parents traveled from South Carolina and up into Quebec in order to find his aunt and uncle who lived there. Kade's luck continued and they found his aunt, uncle, and newborn cousin alive in their own shelter. From there the family traveled west, eventually finding their way to British Columbia. Along the way, they picked up nearly a dozen other survivors including the MC's widow and when they arrived on the west coast they founded the town of New Moresby on Moresby island BC.
When they were discussing where to settle the group unanimously decided that they did not want to live in the ruins of the old world, and after some initial scouting the island of Moresby was selected because of the cattle overrunning it as well as the large number of trees which would provide building material. The town quickly grew and now has over a hundred residents living in the scratch-built settlement. Kade grew up in relative safety on the island surrounded by friends and family. Because he was mostly sheltered from the deprivation of the apocalypse Kade has grown up to become rather naive along with the rest of his generation.
When he was seventeen he and his friends thought it would be fun to sneak off the island and take a boat to explore the ruins on Victoria Island, of the nine who left, only three returned. The horror he had witnessed nearly broke Kade but his mother, Tanya, took it upon herself to teach him how to defend himself. Kade showed a natural talent when it came to long-range shooting and within two years had become one of the best shots on the island. He went on to teach many of the younger generations and convinced the council that all the children should learn how to fight and defend themselves.
Despite his experiences, Kade is still a bit naive, and is an absolute dork, at least according to his friends. His room is covered in salvaged posters of old-world science fiction, he wears his Star Wars shirt almost exclusively and his rifle has hand-painted symbols from a dozen sci-fi groups along the barrel, with the Klingon sigil holding pride of place on the custom-built stock of his Ambush .300 Blackout rifle.
Kade stands 6'1” has a lanky frame and he keeps his blonde hair styled in a faux-hawk. His bright green eyes are constantly darting around as he takes in his surroundings as if he expects a zombie to jump out from every shadow. Despite the horror living in his eyes his smile never ceases to brighten up any room he walks into.
