Today seemed like your average day, nothing out of the ordinary. The morning bell rings and I'm on my way to first period, one of my friends named Justin catching up to me. He grabs my backpack, pulls me back, laughs, normal stuff. We're nearly to the building where our first periods are. I am literally a foot away from being under the roof. Maybe it fell on me from above, maybe it was on my backpack, all I know is that this was the moment it chose to make itself known. I look away from Justin for about five seconds and look back to see him losing his shit. He's hysterical and he's laughing his ass off. I ask him what and between gasps and laughter he points to me and tries to say something but I don't understand until he gains his breath. At this point, I feel a light tickle on my neck, like right before you get goosebumps. He musters just enough air in his lungs to yell at me. "There's a roach on your neck!!" Time seems to freeze as my eyes widen and the tickling grows stronger. My hand flies up to where my collarbone meets my shoulder and my fingers brush something soft and fuzzy, probably the things little hairy legs or antennae. The second I feel it, I scream, or squeal rather. My headphones are thrown from my head to the ground as I swat, not smack by any means, just try and swat the thing off of me. It lands, as if it crawled down me itself, and walks off, leaving me a blubbering mess with broken headphones.
