Pretenders! I’d forgotten about these gimmicky little dorks. The cars for Autobot Gunrunner and Decepticon Roadgrabber here don’t transform, they’re shells surrounding the actual robots, which can themselves transform... sort of.

Gunrunner just kind of fold under his car’s dual cannon turret to make a jet; Roadgrabber does a little more transforming and uses his car’s lasers as wings. The cars also have alt modes, but while ‘grabber actually turns into an “Assault Cruiser”, ‘runner just... sits in the driver seat. Okay.

One kind of cool gimmick is both vehicles big guns snap into ratchets connected to the back wheels, so the barrels do some firing recoil kind of action when you push the cars. So that’s something at least.
