The 'Road Rover' or an Sudan/Saloon variant of the Range Rover is a quirky notion. The idea of a 2x4 Land Rover is one thing but JLR actively producing a traditional car is another... Why do the world's most exotic, prestigious and traditional automotive manufacturers produce SUV's? Because of the success of the Range Rover. Even the J in JLR has to make SUV's today due to the Range Rover (and its family members) poaching sales of their XJ, XF and EX models. What is more likely to work is a Range Rover-esque machine, perhaps something like a an Evoque or Velar in EV form without changing the name. In short, don't make a Land Rover called the "Road Rover". People like the idea of the outdoors and riding high, the name "Road" smacks as confinement, not refinement or freedom, and a Land Rover in car form may come across as an attempt to resurrect the Rover name - will the world accept another SD1 or P5 (let alone 800) when they've already chosen the Range Rover?
