A critically endangered California condor!

California condors, the largest bird in North America, are critically endangered. There are fewer than 450 alive (in captivity and in the wild) right now, up from only about 20 in 1987.

Can a day be busy and relaxing at the same time? I guess when you are on holiday it can be. Our order for sunshine was filled today. We spent most of our day lazing and dipping on the beach. Just as we were going to go get lunch we heard the roar of many motorcycles. They filled the Main Street and just kept on coming. There was quite a variety of bikes and they all sounded fantastic. I don’t think I have ever seen so many bikes in one place at one time. We managed to scoot across the road in the middle of all this excitement and get some lunch and still the bikes were going past so we sat and ate and watched them go by. After lunch we went for a walk down the beach for a couple of K and back to the beach for more swimming. Once we had quite enough sun we headed back to the hotel for ice cream then out for a special shopping trip we had planned to do while here. Last picture, one each, something new to learn. On the way back I spotted some beautiful orchids and quilts. See, a busy but relaxed day!
