Shopping on my time
My friend Mary from Nebraska submitted this benefit ~ "Whenever I go shopping with my husband or friends, they often lose sight of me between the shelves or racks. It's like playing hide and go seeks. I love reading and can spend a lot of time looking at books. After a while my husband gets tired of looking for me in the maze of shelves and gives up. I just have to remember to pick him up in the coffee shop on the way out, though."

Halloween Costume X3
Okay, there are a lot of benefits to being in a wheelchair when it comes to Halloween. One of those benefits is really cool costumes. You can make yourself into a 4X4 truck, a Tank, Ice Cream Truck, etc. etc. Go ahead be creative and remember, if you don't feel like wearing one, then scroll down further to find Halloween Costume Benefits 1 and 2.
Have your own Barbie Doll figure made after you
Okay, I never really played with Barbie Dolls or had a desire to have a Barbie Doll made after me. Maybe a GI JOE figure would have been cool... but there are some people who would love to have a Barbie Doll made after them. Well, if you are a female in a chair, and that was ever a desire of yours, you just found another benefit to being in a wheelchair. They make a Wheelchair Barbie, just for you.
Can work out with your friend/spouse even when you don't want to
Again, especially true if you have a power chair, if your friend or spouse wants to go out for a run and you are sitting there thinking "that is the last thing I want to do". Go ahead and go, remember, all you gotta do is steer.
You can give your friends a ride
Another benefit, especially if you have a power chair is you can give your tired or out of shape friends a ride. They probably don't need it, and it will look like the epitome of laziness, cause it is, but.... a friend's a friend.
Porta Potty
Porta-Potty's are always filthy, some 873 people have already been in there before you and it hasn't been cleaned yet. Guess what, if you are in a wheelchair you get your own Porta-Potty, and sure there might have been some people in there before you but remember you are in the minority so they won't be nearly as disgusting.
Excuse not to work out
I am not saying it's a good excuse, or even valid, there are so many great wheelchair athletes out there that have proven anything, and yes I mean anything, can be done. If you happen to be someone who just doesn't want to though, you have the perfect excuse as why you don't work out, "I can't stand". :-)
