Gumball and Rob 👀

So right off the bat I want to say that I ship gumrob/robball/whatever ship name ppl are using these days!! BUT I think it’s a super well written dynamic no matter what! These two are great as nemeses and awkward friends and whatever else you may see them as and I love them very much! Actually, part of the reason I ship them is because their dynamic is so compelling whether or not they're boyfriends :)

Anyway. Gumball can be Very Clingy and at first Rob at least pretends to find it annoying but honestly? I have a very hard time believing that the guy whose whole character arc is being forgotten and being forced to turn evil just so no one forgets him again would have a problem with someone thinking he is just the greatest most amazing thing. He doesn’t have to be the bad guy anymore because Gumball is NOT forgetting about him anytime soon. (Neither are plenty of other people, but that’s not totally relevant.) Also even tho it might seem like Gumball loves Rob more than Rob loves Gumball, that’s not the case. He’s just way louder about it. Gumball is way louder about everything, though- he just has a naturally big and loud personality. Rob can be big and attention-seeking when he wants or needs to be, but he’s naturally a kinda quiet, laid back, awkward person. Speaking of which, Gumball is big on being super enthusiastic about every little thing, and he wants to celebrate stuff that Rob doesn’t even process as a landmark (”it’s our five-week anniversary!” “Oh. Cool. But, like, wasn’t last week one month?” “Yeah!”) but when Rob wants to be big and flashy he can and will outdo Gumball. 

I also LOVE seeing stuff of them that portrays them as just casual and comfortable with each other. Just kinda soft, fluffy slice of life pieces. Because part of what works with them is they don’t know each other That well in canon, but you can kinda just tell that if they did, it would work. And seeing them super relaxed around each other implies that they’ve taken the time and emotional energy to actually get closer and kinda get used to each other, which I think is really nice :) But then, I also love seeing angst, and enemies to friends to lovers, and awkward still getting to know each other scenarios, and just about everything I can find. Overall 10/10 very good boys, very good and versatile relationship
