I remember reading a FOTD opinion chart where someone said (I believe Lichen's creator) that they haven't seen Robbie at his worst.
So I was like- Bet :D
TW under the cut- Meltdowns, blood, skin/eye pulling, picture inspired by the Tokyo Ghoul "I am a ghoul" panel.
So the short story is (might write more later) is Robbie was caught opening up to another lamb in the flock, kind just sharing what was on his mind.
One of the oracles (likely Tim or Brian idk I'm just a girl 🎀) "caught him in the act" and later he was bled for committing sin 4
Essentially the weight of being punished for sharing his feelings caused him to have a full blown meltdown, tearing and pulling at his skin, resulting in him promptly being bled again for showing weakness
I might flesh this out more later, but I just don't know who he would talk to
TW// Talks of the divine, talks of rule breaking, lmk if I missed anything
ALSO I KNOW I HAD YOU FACT CHECK AND READ UT AS I WROTE BUT PLEASE JUST IF YOU SEE ANYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED LMK ( @timoogi )
I'm pretty sure the prompt had paired Inez and Robbie to interact so here is that!
Just a reminder btw that it's okay to hate the character and not the creator within reason, I'm grateful I was allowed to write for Inez and I'm hopeful I portrayed her right. There was already a post made by her creator but I'd like to reiterate that we should not be villain-izing a child who is just trying to protect/defend herself. Period. There are plenty of other characters who were made to be villains if you wish for an antagonist in your story or for a character to dislike. I won't dive into it anymore than that as it's already been addressed, just be more mindful:(.
Robbie dug his hand made trowel into the dampened and dark earth, hooking it under the vegetation and popping it out the ground.
His eyes glanced up at the girl who was holding a woven basket full of different vegetation he and the other vegetable farmer, Tani, had worked so hard to grow this harvest.
Inez was luckily done with her assigned chores when Robbie had approached and asked for help collecting the vegetables and delivering them the cooks, fearing there were too many that were at their peak ripeness to carry alone (though also fearing punishment if he were to allow good food to go to waste)
“I've been meaning to ask”
Robbie decided to strike up conversation with the younger girl as he turned his focus back to uprooting more vegetables, this time discarding the trowel to uproot carrots, narrowing his eyes at a half bitten one and setting it to the side instead of handing it to Inez
“Why are you so like- what's the word..-perfectionist? No, that sounds rude– like, a stickler for the rules?”
Inez blinked in surprise, half at his comment, though mostly at the fact that Robbie seemed more confused (or caught off guard) on what he was saying than Inez had been.
“What?”
“Eh- er, okay I'm sorry, but it's just-”
Robbie handed off a nice ripe (yet dirty) onion to Inez, allowing the girl to drop it in her basket.
“-i mean- i think I'm exaggerating here..? But it's almost like if someone breathes wrong you tell the oracles?”
“I don't tell the oracles if someone is breathing wrong!”
“That's why I said it was an exaggeration-”
“I know! But breathing wrong is a big difference than breaking the rules The Divine has placed for us to remain-”
Inez took a moment to conjure the correct wording in her brain
“Sinless?”
Robbie suggested, pulling another carrot from the ground, pausing to look at the orange vegetable that had somehow grown an extra end, making it appear to almost have legs.
Inez nodded, and Robbie patted the ground beside him. The younger girl hesitated before sitting in the damp soil, though allowing herself to keep a respectful distance between herself and the farmer. She placed the woven basket in front of her, careful not to damage any still growing leaves or crops.
Robbie reached into the basket and took out a perfectly good carrot, he momentarily compared it to the one with the extra end before placing them both laid down in the soil for Inez to see.
“Can you tell me the difference between these two?”
Inez lifted her hand at Robbie’s question and curled three of her fingers and her thumb into her palm, extending her index finger out to point at the two carrots
“That one has an extra end to it, but the other looks kind of normal”
“Like one you'd see in a store, right?”
Inez took a moment to think about Robbie’s example and shrugged
“I guess?”
Robbie wiped his dirt covered hands on his pants before leaning back and staring up at the sun, muttering something about how it's “too damn hot” for the fact that it's almost Fall.
He sat up and stared down at the carrots, trying to jog his memory of their conversation
“What was I trying to say?”
“Something about carrots..?”
Inez gave Robbie an unsure look (mainly due to her confusion as to how someone could forget the conversation they were having not even a minute ago)
“Right!”
Robbie snapped his fingers
“So I guess think about it like this! Us lambs are the carrot with an extra leg, the oracles are the other one.”
“...so I'm a carrot?”
Whatever message Robbie had been trying to convey was getting horribly lost in translation. Inez gave him a confused look (for what felt like the hundredth time-), only causing Robbie to run his hand over his face (unintentionally getting a large streak of dirt down it).
“No- it's more like.. um- okay. So The Divine made us in the ways he saw fit. Of course we all have our differences in personalities or personalities-”
“You said personalities twice…”
“-But at the end of the day the one thing we all have in common is, we are flawed. The Divine ideally made us flawed to remind us of how we need him, so breaking a smaller rule or two should be okay, it just reminds us we are humans.”
Robbie smiled almost triumphantly at his “motivational” speech, nodding to himself and crossing his arms proudly, thinking he made a good point and Inez would appreciate the message.
Inez pressed her eyebrows together in something akin to being upset or even frustrated. Her hands that had been once resting on her folded knees had at some point curled up into the fabric of her skirt.
“in a sense, it stops us from breaking more rules, or thinking we're above one another”
Robbie added on to his original point, slowly picking the caked in dirt out from under his nails.
Inez pressed her lips together in a small frown before finally allowing herself to speak, a bitter taste on her tongue from the echoing words in her head ‘breaking a smaller rule or two should be okay’ no, breaking any rule shouldn't be okay at all for any of the flock.
“Even breaking a small rule is enough to get you punished”
She began, keeping her voice steady and sharp (or at least trying to)
“We are flawed, which is why the rules exist in the first place and why we have to follow them. The Divine is a fair God, The Divine just wants to help us be better. He won't punish us unless we deserve it..”
Inez trailed off
“Well the carrots!-”
“The carrots..?”
Robbie caught a glimpse of Inez’s change in demeanor and paused himself for the first time in his life, taking a moment to think over his words.
“The… the carrots…. They've been popping out half eaten!”
He dramatically changed his tone to a frustrated one as he presented the earlier orange vegetable that he had found to Inez. Sure enough, teeth marks and chunks missing where you could see the inner layers of the carrots were there. Albeit covered in dirt, but there nonetheless.
Inez blinked a few times, her posture relaxed by the slightest bit as she finally released her skirt, the usually well taken care of fabric now slightly wrinkled.
“I was thinking gophers or something have been eating the crops! They've got to be! Or something that is able to burrow! Way too small to be my teeth!”
Inez seemed to light up a bit as the words came flying out of her mouth
“It has to be bunnies!”
She paused, backing down a bit once she recognized her outburst
Inez looks down at her hands, nervously messing with her fingers and trying to clear some dirt from her nails like Robbie had been doing earlier
Robbie snapped his fingers like Inez had just presented an idea that would end world hunger, a smile on his face.
“You're right! And I found a few carrots above ground too, and rabbits tend to be strong enough to do that! I've seen it!!”
Inez lit up at once once Robbie hadn't rejected her idea, similar to a kid in an ice cream shop when you tell them they can get whatever toppings they want.
“How about…”
Robbie started again, placing the whole carrots in the basket and carefully collecting the half eaten ones in a neat pile
“After we're done delivering the vegetables, we can take these one with the bites and leave it somewhere nice and hidden so the bunnies can eat without getting in trouble? There's no rule against that, right?”
Inez could barely contain her excitement, twirling a loose leaf (though careful to not damage it) between her fingers as she nodded
TW for talks of paranoia, Killing/injuring one's partner, etc.
- Robbie believes he is incapable of loving another again, men or woman. Maybe if the right person comes along, then again he'd rather not get bled for catching feelings.
-nessa gets more and more paranoid the longer she's in the flock, maybe it's the lack of sleep and staring at the ceiling till she could feasibly get up and do what she is needed to do at 5
-robbie has been bled for an Oracle mistaking him reaching out and making sure a fellow lamb was okay was actually him committing sin 4.
"How do you plead?"
"What? But I don't even-"
"How do you plead."
"Whatever man."
-nessa always feels as though she's being watched, even when she isn't. Girlie honestly might be spiraling. She needs more people to talk too.
-Before joining the flock, Nessa wanted to be famous or well known. So much for that, right?
-robbie puts his (almost finished) agriculture schooling to good use when farming. Granted, he's still learning as he goes but it's better than nothing
-robbie has barely any memory of what happened to his "late" girlfriend, much less that he was the one who did it.
-Even if he could (or wanted too) he couldn't ever rejoin society.
-Robbie hallucinates her when he can't sleep. Possibly hidden guilt. Most times its as if a hair on her head hasn't even been harmed. Other times? She wasn't recognizable, resembling more of a mutilated figure looking more like roadkill
"Do I look like your girlfriend?"
"No my.. late wife"
-she might not be dead btw, but the divine just convinced him of it. (He also didn't mutilate or disfigure her, but she hit her head pretty bad so Robbie lowk thought she died)
-nessa desperately wants someone else other than Robbie to talk to/spend time with but she's honestly scared to make friends. (She gets excited when others speak to her though)
I wanna desperately draw/write my lil lambs interacting with others but genuinely am afraid of mis-characterizing other's OCs
To start this off, I don't even know how to write my OCs. So like, let's learn together! 😬

Beddie
Beddie Bennett is one of my more or less older OCs of the three despite joining later. Not age wise of course- more so in the length I've had her, so shes more fleshed out than the others. Beddie is childish. Not in the way that she needs an older parental figure to care for her, she's plenty capable on her own. It's more in the sense of her actions and humor. She has the same sense of humor as a middle schooler- still laughing at poop jokes or Potty humor, finding just about anything funny. However when she's upset she's more so like a toddler who got a toy taken. She'll cry, she'll kick, she'll scream.
Beddie won't talk much, no matter who you are or how important you think you are, though she will communicate through a series of grunts, huffs, hums, and giggles.
Beddie is also a HUGE picker, she loves picking at tree bark after it rains, or picking at her nails subconsciously when she's bored or anxious. Or even at times she'll pick at scabs caused by a maintenance mishap (or being bled) or her skin when she is really bored and has nothing else to do.
As I said in her introduction post, she enjoys scavenging for items and trinkets for the people she likes. Occasionally stealing from the gathering lambs when she finds berries that look weird or cool. Or she'll find small shiny pebbles or rocks for them. She'll occasionally find small gemstones like quartz, though those are for special occasions like when Belle slid her a bit more food than usual, she more than likely found a crystal quartz under her pillow
Her playlist:
Robbie
Robbie is one that I haven't particularly expanded on before, or really had the chance to flesh out.
Robbie tries to do what he can to be that shoulder for others, checking in on them, offering small talks or trying to engage in conversation.
He tries not to be vulnerable around others, though can't help allowing his emotions to slip maybe once or twice once he gets comfortable.
He has trouble keeping what he's thinking under wraps, tending to speak his thoughts or even just speak without thinking. It's gotten him into trouble before with a few of the oracles, mainly Brian and Tim)
"Ugh dude you actually smell like- really bad- does the divine not let you wash or freshen up?" Robbie scrunches up part of his face, making an ugly expression as he covers his nose to protect it from the stench wafting off of the high Oracle.
↑ def after they got back from either a sacrifice or task.
Unfortunately Robbie has horrible bystander syndrome when it comes to actually helping someone in need. He'll be there for you after the fact, or if you ever need to talk or get advice, hell, if you're being unfairly reprimanded he'll step in. Unfortunately things relating to The Divine are a no cross zone for him, carrying the mindset "if you don't want to be here, just leave." Though he's subconsciously aware that's not entirely possible. This effect stems from a deep rooted fear he gained from watching what The Divine does to those who are sacrificed or try to leave, his brain largely causes him to forget this fear- but his palms still sweat when he thinks about leaving.
Robbie isn't in your face about his faith to The Divine like many of the others, though he does enjoy sitting down and hearing others speak about the blessings he "gave our crops" or how "plentiful our harvest will be because of him". You will def see more of his devotion when reading his journal, having praises of the divine left and right in his writing, but that's more so because last time he wrote about missing his family, he was bled.
His playlist:
Nessa
Nessa will be a bit difficult in this sense if I can be honest so hers might be the shortest.
If I had to write about or describe Nessa, I'd likely compare her to an injured or frightened animal. If you meet eyes with her from a distance she may even stare at you similar to a deer when caught in headlights. She's constantly on fight or flight, though half the time it's from her lack of sleep (which in turn is caused by her constant fear that The Divine will make her his next "Sacrifice").
Nessa will very rarely start a conversation unless she has already spoken to you before and finds herself comfortable OR she has a reason to(most of the time was told to speak to others). Besides that, she's more content to stare and watch their actions, feeling safer if she knows where their hands are at all times.
She tends to try and keep things short when she is talking to others. Most tend to bring up the Divine and that talk just makes Nessa wanna puke (she believes her love and faith for The Divine becomes too overwhelming after all)
"Yeah.. No- I agree. Um- The Divine Blesses you" Nessa handed off the basket of nuts and berries that she had found to the cook, sounding a bit rushed as she later rushed out the door.
Nessa only enjoys the solidute in moments where she cannot feel herself being watched, besides that she tends to stick with people she is familiar with, feeling safer to open up when she either knows them better or the topic of something interesting pops up (typically insects)
“Yeah! I like looking into different ones- I more so used to collect-” Nessa paused with an awkward smile “Not.. weirdly-”
“It's actually an invasive beetle species native to Asia, though we now have them as an invasive species in 37 states!! It actually was first transported here on accident due to the transportation of unknowingly infested wood! They typically only have a one year life cycle- though in the proper conditions, they can live for an extra year!”

"Honestly I don't mind these lot, it's nice to be distracted from life and they help sometimes"
-gl00my_nevermore- ( @ruinsversearchive )
"It's easier to talk to her, no sugar coating, no making sure I don't upset anyone. She's pretty chill, though I can respect her ability to bounce my jabs right back at me"
Robbie actually enjoys talking to someone who bounces off his personality (he also enjoys how she hasn't been afraid to match his personality no matter the mood he's in or how snappy he may get.) he'd of course invite her out to get McDonald's at 3am (mans LOVES his late night drives) but he'd rather it not be taken the wrong way.
xXdrowsy-doeXx ( @lucid-agony )
"She's nice- i once made a joke about getting hurt to see her at work after I found out she was an ambo and she said if I did she'd make it worse before it was better- without losing her job"
He later found out after saying it that's Elaine was a ER nurse and not an EMT. He felt absolutely stupid. Elaine makes him feel happy about joining the group, it's like having that one friend who you know no matter how much you joke with that things will be okay :) (though he's sure that's how she makes everyone feel), he's happy to know her.
Mus1c4lK1tt3n ( @artsartblog )
"Yeah she's pretty cool- we talk about horror movies and such, been trying to convince the group to do a big Meetup to watch the new saw movie."
Robbie is rather comforted by talking to grace. It's not in a weird way like he likes her (especially because of the fact that she's 7 years younger, but also because he's not sure if he's ready for that with ANYONE), but more so he kind of sees her as a little sister. He views grace as the baby of the group, occasionally making jabs about such and jokes like "we shouldn't be cursing/talking about _____, Grace isn't old enough yet." He thinks of her not just as someone he can confide in but also a friend and he hopes it's the same for her.
hal45x200( @5yrsb4 )
"I've invited him to get macca's with me a few times, maybe he just doesn't like the fake shit in it"
He wants to get to know Hal more, though granted Robbie hasn't been putting in any hard effort either. He understands that it's hard to trust others (though he never exactly understood the reason why Hal doesn't) and just hopes one day hal can find it in himself or even that Robbie can prove to be someone who can be trusted. Maybe next time he'll ask if Hal wants to crack open a cold one and talk about life (that's what guys in their 30's do, right?)
"Maybe one of these days we can all take a break and get lunch, catch up, maybe forget about all the bad shit"
““You do realize, don’t you, everything is falling apart?” You said, “OK, I’ll try to keep that in mind.” And now it is starting to be late again, just like every other night for the last seventy-five years.””

The missionary comes in one way for robbie
in the first way he finds himself unable to move , held by a think, black, unbreathable substance that slowly begins to swallow him whole. many people come and go, their faces are blurred, distorted, or swirling themselves into nothing almost as if they were hollow and void on the inside. then he sees her, tall, as beautiful as ever despite her lack of a face. her words echo form all directions around him.
“you’re moving on so fast”
she would tell him,
“are you really thinking about her now? i thought you’d love me forever?”
Mihira would never speak to him in such a way, but it sounds so similar, how could he not think it was her?
at that point Mihira holds him, pushing him further into the substance as her body leans on his, the thick liquid avoiding her touch like it was the plague.
an action thats supposedly comforting is turned quickly painful as her hand digs into his chest, her body in turn melting into the suffocating substance as as slowly tears out his heart, skin and flesh ripping apart from the force of it as she begins to stretched and grow, tanned skin becoming pale and grotesque
“if i cant love you, i will love your memory”
“Mihira” would say as the liquid covers his nose and mouth, seeping into his lungs, he tries go scream, his throat feeling like its burning as he began to choke on his own vomit- which was induced by his gagging on the liquid. her face opens, revealing a rather grotesque mouth that greedily bites jnto hsi beating heart, ripping it piece by piece using inly her teeth as if it were the first meal she had been fed in years
her claw rip at his ever sinking body, tearing out his kidneys, liver, gull bladder, whatever she could get her hands on. slurping his organs up like spaghetti. using his ribs to pick her teeth.
then he wakes up.
“When I'm shot through heart and head, And there's no choice but to die, The last word I'll hear, no doubt, Won't be "Charge!" or "Bomb them out!" Nor the stretcher-bearer's cry, “Let that body be, he's dead!" But a voice cruel and flat Saying for ever, "Cat! ... Cat! ... Cat!"”
