He was never completely educated about drones, and he had little to no interaction with them. What he had heard he almost regarded as exageration. The chief thing that goverened how he treated quadrants/quadmates/considerables was still his previous experience, his matesprite being killed, and his ancestor's writtings. Both of these things taught him that it was better to essentially "quit while you're ahead", because everything will eventually come crashing down around you.
