Robbie Basho - Visions of the Country Another non-RSD, RSD pick up. I first heard of Robbie Basho when a friend of mine sent me the song Blue Crystal Fire to me on Facebook. Like many people I was immediately taken by his voice and the dream-like guitar playing. It sounded like an old kind of music I never heard but somehow was familiar with. I would later find out that this feeling came from the mixing of two genres I am familiar with, American folk music and Indian Raga. The real Liner Notes on this reissue do a better job describing Basho and his relation to American wilderness than I ever could but it really is some of the most vivid imagery I can think of in music.
