AU Where Sansa is One Of Daenreys Ladies
The first time he saw the red haired goddess was when she was seated in a gold dress tunic over her black riding pants next to the Dragon queen. Her hair curled on her head and her blue eyes piercing him with their depths. The partnership he had with Daenreys was one thing he valued over anything which was why he bought his last surviving sibling along with him. Rickon was in awe of the black dragon seated beside the fair looking queen who was anything but fair, the girl though had the green and gold dragon framing her seat and looked at ease in fact their was a intelligence to her eyes which seemed old, something Robb had seen in Bran's eyes a lot. At first glance he had known that the girl was beautiful, like fire to Daenreys Ice, but as he stared at her closer he began to see that this girl was a gem, something that was rare here in Westros even in the riverlands.
The dragon Queen cleared her throat gaining his attention and smiled at him softly in that way which made many of his men nervous. "Well Robb, we have been conversing through letters for so long it feels as if i have met you already despite this being the first time we have met personally" she said in that soft voice that was entirely her own.
"As do I milady" he replied giving her his trademark wolf grin. "Although I have heard many a stories, that you control dragons and you bought a warg of great power over the great sea with you who controls the other wild life, that your army is undefeated"
The dragon queen laughed and pet her dragon which was shifting uneasily before looking at him with searching eyes "I have heard stories of the Young Wolf as well. That you have the companionship of a large majestic wolf, as large as any horse and that you are one of the bravest warriors the land has seen since the old Kings of the North" she said before gazing at Grey Wind who stood faithfully at his side. "I see that these stories aren't entirely false"
Robb laid a hand on Grey Wind too calm him before clapping Rickon on his shoulder "This is my brother Rickon he is young but war has made it necessary to keep him close" he said sadly.
The red head looked into the eyes of Shaggydog who was shifting from paw to paw growling lightly at everything that jumped. "The boy has the large black wolf as his partner. it loves him very dearly, In fact the wolves love their Stark's as much as your dragons love you Dany" the girl said softly but joy radiating through her voice.
"As you can see the story of the Warg is not false at all" Daenreys said in a confident tone "This is my first lady and my closest friend Sansa of the Free cities"
Sansa smiled at Rickon who smiled shyly back before moving her gaze to Robb who sucked in a quick breath "Thank you both for taking such good care of your wolves, they wanted me to tell you that they love you both so much" she said looking right into his eyes.
Grey Wind nudged his hand making Robb look down at his partner and rub his head happily. "They are a part of us as I'm sure your dragons are a part of you Milady" he said respectfully.
The dragon Queen smiled and nodded before dismissing the two of them, the partnership was intact for now and Robb knew his men would be safe for the night making a weight leave his shoulders. That night in his tent as he was going over battle plans he was going to present to Daenreys the next morning Rickon padded over and sat across from him making him pause in his work.
"Lady Sansa is very pretty isn't she" he said softly making Robb nod dumbly, "She looks a little like mother did"
This time instead of being shocked all Robb felt was heartache for his fallen mother, he knew Rickon needed a mother he was too young not to but despite this Robb hadn't found the right person to marry just yet. No one seemed right. "Yes she did a little. But remember she is dangerous, she can control animals and talk to them as if they were people"
"I don't think she is dangerous" Rickon said simply making Robb smile softly.
"Oh and why is that?"
"Because Shaggydog liked her, in fact I think that's where he has gone off too" his younger brother said simply before walking over to his cot leaving his brother staring after him stupidly.
The weeks passed slowly and Robb got to know the beautiful Warg that sat beside the queen, his men did as well and slowly they became to love and respect her, not only was the girl good at dissolving tension in the war council she was a good warrior as she had proven when she had saved his own live with a throwing knife. All of that was great but in Robb's mind his favorite thing about Sansa were the walks the two of them went on, him with Grey Wind by his side while the Warg was followed by any creature who felt her calming presence. The two of them got along so well the Robb hadn't noticed that this friendship had turned into affection and caring until he had seen her hurt and felt it hit him deep in the gut.
Robb thought it might be the way she didn't treat him like a King but instead like a fellow man, she said what she thought and never held back around him but he was becoming enamored with the young warg. he had thought he had hid it well until two months after he and Daenreys had joined forces and she had proposed marriage.
"W-what?" he spluttered.
"Would you marry Sansa" she asked kindly "I fear the girl is well sort after by many but no one but the heir to the first men should have her. She is a rare gift and despite our histories the Stark's are and honorable and old family, one that Sansa deserves"
Robb swallowed and nodded slowly "What does she think about this. I will not marry and unwilling bride" he said firmly.
Daenreys laughed and shook her head "Sansa is all for it. She has become very caring towards you. so much so she wasn't hesitant to marry you at all" she said before folding her hands across her lap. "So Robb will you Marry my best friend?"
"I would be so very honored to" he said in truth, he could think of no better Queen in the North than the young Warg who the Direwolves all loved.
After the strange meeting between the King and Queen Robb walked back to his tent only pausing when he heard muttering coming from inside. "So does this mean you'll be apart of my family?" he heard Rickon asked hopefully.
A sweet laugh followed and when Robb looked in he saw Sana curled up on his large bed with Shaggydog, Grey Wind and Rickon curled up with her, Rickon in her arms like he had many times with his mother. "If your brother agrees to the match then yes it does. I'll be your sister"
The younger Stark beamed at his future sister and then spotted him by the entrance "Robb did you say yes. Are you going to marry Sansa?" he asked excitedly.
Striding over he picked up Sansa's spare hand and gave it a kiss smiling down at the beautiful Warg. "Yes Rickon, Sansa will be my bride" he said before sliding in on the other side of his brother never letting go over her hand.
Together the three fell asleep and when Robb woke up he was pleased to see Sansa framed by his large Direwolf protectively with Rickon curled up to her chest like a son would while they still clasped hands. Giving their hands a kiss Robb smiled at the picture they made before sliding out of bed only to be caught by Sansa who's eyes fluttered open to look at him.
"Where are you going?" She asked teasingly making him lean over and kiss her on the forehead.
Pulling back he gave his beautiful bride a smile "My men need to know they have a future queen on the way" he said softly
Sansa sat up shaking Rickon awake and then stood up fluffing out her hair and then linking their arms before smiling at the youngest Stark "Then should we not do it together?" she asked making him beam.
Then together Sansa and Robb walked out into his camp where his men were waiting with Grey Wind beside him and Sansa looking like the goddess of nature she always did, while holding Rickon's hand who had Shaggydog beside him. They would be a fmily, the ruling family of the North Robb would make sure of it.
The first time Robb had heard Sansa referred to as ‘little bird’ he had almost laughed. His sister was a Stark she was no bird she was a wolf and yet when the Hound who had bought her back to him during the exchange with the Kingslayer had called her exactly that. But he had thought nothing of it, his sister was of winter he could see it in the steel in her eyes and the strength in the clench of her jaw as she walked through the camp of soldiers who were staring at there princess in awe.
The next time he heard it was after a battle when he went into the mmedical tent to find Sansa singing to one of his men. No older that fifteen, he had been stabbed in the shoulder, in the last three weeks Sansa had learned a lot off the maester and more often than not she was the one the men sort out for stitching most likely because of her calming nature a still and sure hands. He just stood at the doorway watching his sister as she finished feeling pride well up inside him, this was once his gentle sister who would faint at the sight of blood and yet now she was like a wolf strong and sure. “Your voice is so pretty princess Sansa" the boy said shyly “just like a bird" Although the wounded solider provably didn’t notice Robb did see how his sister’s shoulders tightened and she sat a little straighter but even when she was mad or irritated Sansa was the perfect princess and so she smiled at the boy and thanked him before moving on.
The comparison continued to be heard over the months of war bit not as much Robb was pleased to hear. As she began to once again to be seen as a Stark and Grey Wind almost alway in her presence he began to hear a new description. His sister was now being called the Wolf Queen. His Queen to his King. Many men thought his sister was beautiful but too Robb lately his Sister was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, red hair fair skin and clear blue eyes she was perfect. In his mind she was his queen, his equal and as she had proven to his council she had a better ear for politics than any man.
Robb knew he was getting in too deep when he woke up in a sweat with desire for his sister. But he kept it buried inside him, and tried to keep his distance to her, as hard that was. But one evening he was left in her company after the end of another council that Sansa had once again proven herself in and he just needed her presence. She must have known that becuase she came over and cup his face in her hands.
"You must be so tired Robb" she whispered softly her eyes searching his own.
Unable to speak all the young king was able to do was rest his face into her hands and nodded. A moment passed and Sansa did something he would never had guessed. She kissed him. Not in the sisterly way, and even though he knew it was wrong Robb could not bring himself to care instead he wrapped his arms around her waist and drew he close. It may be wrong but he didn’t care, she was his queen, his wolf princess and he would keep her forever, safe and loved because Sansa deserved that more than anything. Pulling her onto his lap Robb swore in that moment she would be his true queen once the war was finished, the greys be damned because everyone knows the Wolf King can’t be at his best without his wolf Queen.
