Week 1: Welcome To Rolling Dice!
Ah, hello, weary stranger! Come on, come on, wouldn't you like to see some wondrous men tonight? They won't scam you, I promise! Casino may always win, and the identities might be hidden under a veil, but for a limited time, you may learn anything about the fish fellows! Only for now, though, as I have to depart in two days and will not be able to finish any art ideas I have. But why worry now about such frivolities?
Information + first design batch under the cut!
Samuel "Grave" Corpeno, 27 years old (flags: bisexual, trans man, polyamorous):
- the new owner of the casino; was the one who renamed it as "Rolling Dice"; - came to the casino at first to try his luck. Alas, it was too much for the previous owner to handle, which spurred into a conflict. But there is no challenge he can't take on! Even if it involves previously unused firearms; - had his top and bottom surgeries after illegally taking over the ownership of the casino; - is friends with the son of the previous owner. He feels delighted each time, to the point of oversharing personal details. But it is alright: the son isn't capable of harm whatsoever; - despite his apprehension, was asked to keep some of the older employees under his wing. Doesn't mean he didn't welcome the new ones with much more open arms; - he had tricked only two of the three about his deal. Guess who the lucky one was; - adores the stars and anything related to the sky, jokes that this adoration is the reason for his periodical insomnia.
Robert "Rob" Basilio, 26 years old (flags: gay (men-loving-men), asexual):
- comes from the floating islands, or as the public calls it, Above; - unfortunately, one day, he had his documents lost, and thus was thrown out into Below; - the fall was not literal, but it did make him almost lose its life, if there weren't certain someones, who will make an appearance later; - is rather naïve about the "rules of Below"; - cannot shuffle cards to save its life, due to a robust right hand, but is extremely capable in calculus. That is why he was given the role of a cage cashier; - thinks it is the only one aware of Grave's deception and tricks to keep the employees in "Rolling Dice". Unfortunately, he is wrong; - despite everything, though, is rather fond of his newfound shoaling.
Julius Junior Oppenheimmer, 26 years old (flags: omnisexual, polyamorous):
- for having immigrant parents (Russian from mama's side, and German from Vater's side) and being fluent in both languages (as well as English), was often assumed to be a spy for either of the countries; - in response to such accusations, says "what's the use out of a one-eyed spy, who can't talk in bustling, crowded spaces?" and takes out his glass eye; - is rather proficient in close-range fights and considers firearms to be "too noisy and too much of a long-term commitment for a handful of bullets"; - when Grave offered him some alcoholic beverages after Julius accepted working in "Rolling Dice", the latter declined the offer in exchange for some tea, personally brewed in front of him; - was the first one to whom Grave revealed his true name, in rather... steamy setting; - may not be good at appearing friendly, but he knows the rules of card games like his own palm of hand; - considers Rob to be his friend, and is delighted to teach it and Josh of what they have to do to survive.
Joshua "Josh" Magnus, 27 years old (flags: pansexual, demiboy (the closest I can get to explaining his gender), polyamorous):
- was born and raised in a cult of Amphibos, was extremely devoted to it; - came to the casino to turn "sinners" there into "enlightened followers, ones of many with a common goal under Kratok's only truthful command"; - unfortunately, due to his lack of awareness of the world, couldn't convert anyone. However, was offered by Grave to join the casino's crew to do ones duty long-term. Josh agreed and wrote a letter to inform ones commune of the situation; - was later kicked out of the cult for disobeying Kratok's will and getting involved in "Rolling Dice". It took many months for Joshua to come to terms with this, but one has moments of mentioning the laws from the Lord and Savior who abandoned him; - was extremely confused of ones feelings due to being kept away from the rest of the world, is slightly bashful and embarassed of himself; - as a waiter, talks to the visitors, charming them with his sweet, untouched, pure attitude; - when there turned up an option of purchasing a camera, one agreed to it in faster than a heartbeat.
Now, the first batch was not as flashy. And was recycled due to one single reason.
You may notice that Samuel, Julius and Joshua have not changed much; still, there are slight differences. And obviously, the one who had changed the most is Rob.
At first, I had the idea to keep him the same, to explain as to why it got into Below, and consequentially "Rolling Dice". Alas, it bugged me out. Because the design of Post-Void is far too modern to fit in with the rest. Thus, I decided to cut out the Void entirely, just as I have done with my other, undisclosed AU (James Shayfer AU), and change Rob getting forgotten into something else, just as disastrous and accidental. So, a bureocratic mistake it is! As well as possible unemployment and inability to pay taxes.
In another post, I will explain the worldbuilding of the AU. But for now, I am drifting to sleep. Have a nice rest, traveller! Thank you for stopping by and becoming a fellow dustbun.
