- Robert Garland, Daily Life of the Ancient Greeks
Got myself a library card and I'm doing some study up to get more indepth into ancient Greek culture. Found this book:
"Ancient Greece: everyday life in the birthplace of western civilization" by Robert Garland
The start of the book goes over the Ancient Greece timeline. I forgot I am terrible at history and geography. it's hard to follow at some points, but I got this.
Dance Theater of Harlem: Alexandra Hutchinson, Amanda Smith, Anthony Santos, Kouadio Davis, Daphne Lee, and Micah Bullard in Robert Garland’s “Higher Ground,” to 1970s-era Stevie Wonder. Photo by Caitlin Ochs for The New York Times
The Electric Horseman (1979). A rodeo star past his prime steals his company's horse and rides into the desert, with a feisty reporter accompanying him.
I mean, I'll watch Jane Fonda in anything, but of the two movies she played journalists in that were nominated for an Oscar in 1979, The China Syndrome is infinitely better. This is just okay. It never quite finds it's footing or roots you in Robert Redford's character, but there are worse ways to spend an hour and a half. 6/10.
