Robert Heinecken another leader in conceptual art explores contradictions, friction and disparity. His examining of Americans attitudes towards gender, sex and violence regularly was seen to be humorous and always provocative. Heinecken calls himself a 'para-photographer', regarding to his ability to create work beyond traditional notions. The artist had always celebrated photography's limitless experimentation as a medium.

I particularly love the second image, I think the juxtaposition of these two faces works perfectly. To me the image regards beauty and consumption, two commodities I'm sure the artist was very aware of, considering he was good friends with John Baldassari and Ed Ruscha, two other controversial artists i've researched for this project.
