My Man Godfrey (1936)
I come to ask Waywood main canons as students version Popular Boy (Michael) x Antisocial Boy (Robert) who are always damn glued together. And it's adorable.
Robert is very in disbelief that Michael is fond of him, so he acts grumpier, meaner, and worse to try to prove his own beliefs about himself, though Michael sees through it and continues on (This is not a good/cute thing irl guys, if someone treats you badly LEAVE)
Michael is the one who has to instigate most of their interactions because of this, and it becomes their dynamic, when Michael doesn't, then Robert investigates and goes to Michael, who's been waiting.
They spend a lot of time studying quietly next to each other because Robert doesn't exactly know how to approach him, and Michael is passionate about his studies. Robert is the one to nudge Michael awake after the library is dark, only after glancing at him for while and memorizing the lines of his face. He prefers it this way. Robert always leaves when Michaels other friends show up because he doesn't like the feeling of getting left behind so to avoid it he goes before that can start. Michael gets used to planning solo interactions between them, and now Michael is familiar with Roberts dorm and finds himself a key.
